Despite this, the film's energy, Harris's stunning lead role, and some taut chase sequences make "Black and Blue" a compelling watch. "MR-9: Do or Die" is a milestone for Bangladeshi cinema-bringing the iconic Masud Rana to the big screen in a cross-border spy thriller with CIA collaborations, global stakes, and a cast featuring Frank Grillo and Michael Jai White. The premise delivers promise, and some action scenes, particularly those involving White, spark energy and movement.

However, the film is weighed down by flat lead charisma, sluggish pacing, and limited production resources that make many CGI sequences feel artificial. ABM Sumon's portrayal of Masud Rana lacks the magnetic presence expected of a national hero, while supporting veterans shine in contrast.

However, the deliberate pacing and predictable plot arcs hinder momentum, leaving much of its 91-minute runtime feeling slow and overly familiar. While Carrie-Anne Moss and Douglas Smith deliver grounded, affecting performances, the emotional resonance is uneven and the story risks fading from memory. A creative twist and strong performances push it above average-but pacing and impact limitations justify a 5/10 rating.
