There are multiple serious editing errors ruining both of the parallel stories about the brother in the navy and the teacher.
1-There should be some scenes after the husband discovers the truth and before becoming intimate with the boy.
2-The scene in the cupboard in the movie theater should be earlier in the movie 3-Teacher's change of behavior is not sufficiently supported
Some other problems: -Scenes with boy's mother are included too late towards the end, -Teacher's husband talks too much non-sense too long to inspire some feeling of sympathy and pity in viewer (which is required to understand the change in the boy's attitude)
Could have been a much better movie if edited better.

Trist towards the nd was really shocking but direction and acting was awful. Epilogue was meaningless. I hope somebody uses the overall idea much better.
