The film Eflatun is a high-quality, "tasty" festival movie. The Director Cüneyt Karakus, who wrote the script, was inspired for creation of Eflatun by a meeting with a visually impaired man on the street. He offered to help him, but to his shame (by his own admission) he realized that he didn't know how to behave with that man. Cüneyt Karakus dedicated this movie to all people with disabilities.
The main emphasis in the film is made on details and seemingly insignificant little things. The Director especially emphasizes sounds, smells and imagination
Kerem Bürsin playing Oflaz in this movie is again quite different than in other his works. He hardly laughed, seemed detached and lost. Meeting with Eflatun changed him, or on the contrary, reminded him of what he once was. Oflaz "showed" Eflatun a different world, as I thought he reminded her of her father, with whom she had special relationships.
Several times I held back tears, the play of Kerem (one love) and Irem (bravo), touched the most delicate strings of the soul, and of course, at the end I could not resist.
It would seem to be a classic plot, the meeting of a guy and a girl, but the aftertaste of watching this film is felt like warmth inside, as from a cup of hot chocolate on a cold day.
