Cult writer/director/jack of all trades Jared Masters channels his inner Doris Wishman for a misty plot free, but rather charming nudie-cutie sexploitation throwback.
The hair certainly IS big, the lashes definitely ARE long. No lies were told by that title.
70 minutes of attractive young women talking on phones, taking baths, getting dressed and looking absolutely glorious in vintage lingerie, with real stories narrated over the glamour, I had a wonderful time.
Jared Masters ain't a film maker for everyone, but his low budget, somewhat campy and kitsch style works for me more often than not.

Club Lingerie is a club where women can earn $50 a night by hanging out in lingerie. Except you'll also be proposition for sex for money by customers, and the also the owner arranges an auction for worn underwear?
I don't think retakes existed in the making of this, even when clearly reading from cue cards, various people flub their lines, repeat the correct one, and it all stays in the movie. Bits of the sets fall down or apart and I can't tell if it's deliberate or accidental.
This is just absolutely baffling. Like, it's dreadful, but it's also kinda hot, and weirdly entertaining? The tone shifts at the drop of a hat from sleazy titillation, to campy comedy, to murder mystery.
This feels like it shouldn't exist, and that no one should actually be able to watch it. It should only exist on a VHS tape in the home if the person that made it. I'm quite glad it does exist though.

For better or worse (better, if you ask me) no one makes films quite like Jared Masters. It's like they've leaked in from a similar, but weirder, universe than our own. I'm very into it.
Seeing Andy Dick's arse was a rough start to Deadly Punkettes, but thankfully he swiftly exited the movie and we got on with the thrust of the plot, a punky girl group on the road to stardom! That carries on for a while, then something happens that makes things much odder.
All the women are beautiful, the film making is messy as Hell in a way I love, and I'm gonna need that soundtrack on pink glitter vinyl please and thank you.
