Well, it tried and it fell short. Reading other reviews, I am noticing there has to be more than one cut of this film. There were minor jump scares, which I have no problem with, so long as there are only a few, but these were a little lackluster. The only thing I thought was mildly entertaining was the guy saying "I love ghosts!" The kind of attitude the guy in Paranormal Activity, the first one, had.
The acting was not very good, and the dark-haired girl really just rubbed me the wrong way. There is a good reason after 23 years, I have never heard of this movie. Riding of the success of TBWP, the characters gave me nothing to grab on to and make it engaging. Watch it if you want to, but keep your expectations low, then you won't be as disappointed as I was.

This movie can really give your heart a little work out, while dealing with issues of depression and suicide, and salvation and finding people who you really care for. It was not what I was expecting, but I pleasantly surprised with the way it warms the heart and really tugs at it too. Otto really reminds me of my own grandfather, but my Poppa wasn't that much of anal retentive a-hole that Otto can be. I get why Otto was just wanting to move on, i'd feel quite similar in the same situation, but it's anal retention that out the story into a positive direction.
Otto is a real ken, but you come to love the old fart! And honestly, it's Tom Hanks, the guy is a great actor!

Well, if you've seen it, congrats to you! You either enjoyed it or wondered who you need to talk to about getting that time back for watching it. I am on the fence, so I am not thrilled, but didn't hate it either. It won't watch it a second time, but I won't say I wasted my time because I found it interesting at first. My real gripe is that I was invested in the Figure in the beginning and it did delve further. I have another one at the end, but for the sake of spoiling it, I won't mention it. I'll say, there is some over-acting. The effects were meh, but get an A for effort.
Not much for substance and there are many better mockumentary films out there, but I have seen much much worse mockumentaries. 5/10 maybe C grade movie.
