von Triers has missed the mark on this one. Yes there are details that people can discuss. But the story was one that had me thinking, "Why did he write this crap?" Great effects, slow motion, etc. The acting was good. But how do you act out a bad story? If this were a painted art piece, I'd describe it as someone taking the paint in his/her mouth, puking it on to the canvas, passing it off as a masterpiece, attracting certain intellectuals holding wads of cash.
The horror and shock was there but it just didn't work for me, because of the awful story.
And von Triers dedicated this to Andrei Tarkovsky? Well, I think that Tarkovsky should probably be reborn as the Antichrist, come AFTER von Triers and that could become a hit... based on a true story.
Straight to the Recycle Bin with this one, selecting Erase Recycle Bin (35-Pass Gutman). 1 star, with an extra star for great effects.

I AM a Borat fan but this is pretty much the same type of humor he does with his smaller clips on Da Ali G Show. I did like the movie though. Scripted for over an hour's endurance, just think of some of his smaller clips with variances of Borat's humor rolled into one. The only real difference is that in the movie, he had a sidekick touring with him throughout the U.S. and A. Sascha Baron Cohen a.k.a. Borat/Ali G did a little better putting together his Ali G movie. New characters (plus more inside Ali G's character), gangsters, skits and an actual storyline is what made the movie. As for Borat? Come on Sascha. Put something together with a little more story and a little more shocking this time... I look forward to it.
Produced by Nott Entertainment, this movie is "nott" very good at all. I sat through the first 15 minutes of the film before judging that the acting is bad, the casting is bad and camera work is bad. As I hear that there is a download of this film floating around on the internet, it is "nott" even worth the bandwidth.
Up until the time I wrote this review, the average vote for this movie was an 8.5, which prompted me to view it and there was an average high majority of 10's for it, obviously voted on by liars and shills. This movie is "nott" for everyone. Or parents, if you want to punish your kids with this awful film, have them sit through this one for Halloween.
