I do think this is a decent adaptation of the story. I do like how Snow White is more active in the story with her wanting to take down the queen for the people. Lily Collins does a pretty good job as the title character with her personality and motive. I also like the performance of Julia Roberts who does a good job with her performance as the evil queen. The movie does things different compared to the original story with is executed decent. I also like the dwarves in the movie with their different personality to them and the performances.

I also like the setting of the movie with its visual and atmosphere the movie presented here. One big issue is that the humor is pretty bad because its either the same joke or a obvious one.

Mirror Mirror is probably best for kids because as a adult, it's a decent adaptation.

I found this to be an interesting type of movie that I watched. The story is unique, with John discovered what his mother is hiding from him and the types of experiments she does. It's a bizarre premise with her creating these monster hybrid people to bring back her late son. She regrets doing it, and 2 tells her other son to destroy all lab work that she had done with it. But there's another scientist who claims to be friends with her and wants to find the notes of the experiments. The movie shows off the experiments on how horrifying and interesting what the mother has been doing behind John back. I found the scenes with the monster attacking it's victims to be horrifying and disturbing on what they do to them and the tentacles they use on them. And the movie has a suspenseful climax to it. There are a couple of flaws with the movie like current plot threads are forgotten about like the opening with one guy kidnapped a injured man who is never seen again and one scene where we see human hybrid monsters that are never shows up again. Also, there's a minor plot with another scientist who I guess is the human villain, but he barely appears. The characters themselves are also the weakest part of the movie. Most of them are one-dimensional and lack any development for them. John could have been good if we saw his relationship with his mother and brother expanded on more. At least they are likable throughout. Another strong aspect is the special effects of the movie. The movie contains a lot of great practical effects in it with the monster designs that are unique. I like the details they added to them, and they are vicious creatures to encounter. The filmmakers are creative in making these creatures come to life and are probably the best part of the movie.

The Kindred might have flaws with its story, but it is an interesting type of movie that is enjoyable and contains great practical effects.
