I never wrote a review here but Seven Psychopaths is worth the effort. The title is silly and over-the-top, and only makes sense if you see this as a parody of titles like The Hateful Eight. Problem : the latest Tarantino movies are already over-the-top, exploiting gratuitous violence with the excuse of being funny, choreographic, exploring the "beautiful hidden aesthetics" of gore. So what can this film be ? More of the same ?
It's an audacious gamble. It teases us with a grindhouse/thriller/action plot, and turns into a film about love. No way ! This won't work, right ? Because what we need is a solid shoot-out and merciless killings, right ? Well, it does work. You will get the violence and the "fun"... but you will also get much, much more : a view on what cinema can be when you go beyond the easy exploitation.
I highly recommend it, not only for the cast or the dialogues. The whole narrative structure is absolutely amazing, very well crafted. The writers know their classics, they know how to play with our expectations and dare to take us in completely unexpected places - for a reason. This really took guts. It is too clever and too twisted to become a classic like Pulp Fiction, but it's on the level of the early Tarantino. Truly satisfying cinema.

Witty, brilliant real-life documentary about how scared big companies can be when their name and reputation is at stake. This should be part of every citizen's toolbox.
As entertaining as Michael Moore, although way more subtle (this isn't a patchwork of shortcut scenes and quotes, but real field work).
