That's romance init? Jessica (Aileen) and Connor (Anthony Price) established the bittersweet connection right from the start and their chemistry intensifies as the movie progresses. Jessica's character particularly evolves through the movie, while Connor's character follows the typical Topsy turvy path of Hollywood romance. Yes, it is too ideal at moments with a few absurd scenarios thrown in. But that's what keeps us hooked. Apart from the million twists in an hour movie. Ending felt a bit rushed, but that doesn't necessarily spoil the essence of the 'loves me not' drama.
FYI, not exactly your typical arranged marriage blossoming to heartfelt love story.

How to choose a cast when one man is determined to outshine them all in his quest to revenge? Might sound familiar to the Blacklist fans. The key is contrast and gradual development.
We saw the pain behind Jane's smile, the bravery behind Lisbon's awkwardness, the strength behind Rigsby's innocence, the fight between longings and frustration behind Cho's one-liners, the disguised beauty of Grace's transformation, Abbott's paternal instincts, Wylie's heartbreak, and so many delicate moments in this supposed comedy mystery adventure. Simon Baker's undeniable charm and the great stories might have run the show, but this intricate contrast of characters infuse life into this series. I agree while 'Red John' and the other villain arcs lead to a mystical journey, the development of each character through the series is a mastery in story telling.
One can off course watch it for Jane's magic, but his tale through the eyes of others is the real magic conjured by the producers and team here. In this series, the unique balance between light and dark moments is held together by thousands of small yet imapctful moment. And that differentiates it from other crime and mystery shows out there. Castle might come a bit close maybe.

While the side characters apart from Miss Rowan and Mr Lewicki were not exactly up to the mark always (-1 point for that), this series in itself is not just unique, it also explores human thoughts, mind and action from an entirely different perspective. We have infinite shows out there focusing on perceived FBI approaches, on moral policing and political doctrines, or some abnormal fantastic minds with devilish looks and attitude. We love most of them. And then there are some we have to that feed on our emotions.
And here we have the eccentric Monk with his Beautiful Mind trying to understand and unveil human mind and their actions. Sometimes solving crime feels secondary in some episodes, with primary focus on some basic education of mind and heart. And no dashing swashbuckling action hero (sorry Liam) could present us this intricate a character development. The very inreractions with his real and imaginary colleagues have a few stories to tell. Would have loved for it to continue but good stuff come in small doses. Enjoy this gem folks.
