Valutazione di Soju King
Pay no attention to the stupid ramblings of myzyri who could only lecture about the poor acting and low budget graphics. If, like myzyri, you'd rather have a Hollywood big budgeted, tons of graphics crapfest like The Haunting, then by all means skip past this one. But if you enjoy indie films made for the genre rather than filling the studios coffers, then give this one a try.
The Devil's Tattoo borrows much from John Carpenter's The Thing but it adds a supernatural twist to keep things interesting. Neither the cast nor crew will win any Oscars, but who really cares? These kinds of movies are about cheap thrills and keeping things interesting for 90 minutes and this film delivers on both fronts. A very pleasant surprise that only the most cynical or arrogant (myzyri) of silly fanboys won't enjoy.

This movie is the typical South Korean film that relies on melodrama, plot holes, unbelievable characters and, as always, a dash of nationalistic pride. Even the main character, a city prosecutor, is hard to sympathize with as his main motivation for pursuing the antagonist is because of resentment he felt for this person back in high school. The scene where dozens of police cars show up out of thin air and have every street in Seoul blocked off to catch some motorcyclists requires the viewer to suspend all logic. There are some Korean films that show promise for the future of the industry in Korea. This isn't one of them.
Don't believe the critics and prudes that slammed this movie because of the over abundance of T&A. How could anyone make a movie about a burlesque show in Vegas without T&A? This film (and particularly Ms. Berkley) did an outstanding job in portraying the often less than desirable world of Vegas showgirls and manipulations needed to truly succeed at it. This film in no way deserves the rap it's taken from day one, mostly from prudes who are offended because of the skin in the film and often decadent behavior of the characters. It's about Vegas and those folks just don't get it and never will. Anyone who's ever spent considerable time in Vegas, or wants to, will love this movie. You prudes should just stick to watching Mary Poppins and reading your bibles. Can I get an Amen?
