This was a great watch.

Very fun stuff, way above expectations. These guys are amazing actors and great comedians. I've always been partial to british humour, but didn't expect Idris Elba to deliver such a funny act (and yes: I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition either...) John Cena is a rare gem, a phenomen of its own. He stands in a very fine line between fiction and reality, superimposed with another fine line: that between action movie stars and real actors. He has always delivered superbly and exceeded expectations. Nobody in their right mind would counter that this guy is a great performer, entertainer, and capable of pulling off laughs off of otherwise unwittingly audiences. If you haven't yet, then you should check out the TV shows he has been featured in ("Peacemaker" is a must!).

Idris Elba is one of my favourite actors of all time, and he doesn't disappoint in this one. Granted: there's a bit of a heft to his personality, and it will always show through, but that's part and parcel of being an established thespian (would you suspend all disbelief in the face of Sir John Gielgud, Sir Anthony Hopkins, or Dame Judi Dench? I'm sure you couldn't) As for Priyanka Chopra, there are no words to describe her. She's probably the most experienced actor in all the cast. Besides that, she's one of the most beutiful women to grace the screens in the last 20 years. And that's just because she only started her acting career by 2002.

Last but not least, Paddy Considine is a multifaceted, phenomenal actor the likes of which you will always feel grateful to watch. This guy might not enjoy the fame of Edris Elba, but he surely embodies all that you would expect from the best of the best in british acting tradition. I don't need to explain that, has his career is a testament to that.

Bottom line: Watch this! You won't be disappointed.

Yes, I rate this 10/10. Why? Because it couldn't be any better, and because it is a work of art.

Perusing at pictures and synopsis, I first thought this was just one more of those b-grade african-american movies specifically taylored to cater for african-american audiences. I have seen a few of those and they suck. They just try to tap into that motherload of colective pain / grief / regret / shame / pride / revenge / self-rightousness / whatever (yes: I'm not American... does it show?).

But boy, was I wrong in this case... this movie is an amazing work of art about the blues, music, freedom, and humanity. This movie is about life and about the living. The vampires are just an allegory.

This movie has so many layers, I bet that you can't even peel all of them on a first screening. And it is masterfully executed by everyone (including the stellar cast, and the contribution of one of the last living blues legends: Buddy Guy). The writer/director did an absolutely amazing job on every front, but I would (as others do, I am told) single out the dance hall scene which, in itself, conflates and summarizes the themes of freedom, music and humanity, in a way I never thought possible before. Yes: it treads that fine line between the sublime and the corny, but there is no other way towards greatness.

In short: if you are not moved by the blues, you are probably dead. If you are not moved by this movie, you are probably not human.

Watch this! Then watch it again!

Even vampires will appreciate this movie. If you don't, then you're probably a werewolf pissed off for not being featured in it.

This is so good. Captures all the details, all the quirks, all the stupid idiosyncrasies of founders and startups and investors and all of this crazy new world of finance and business. For the record, I'm just saying these words. I'm not typing this review. I have an AI that is reading my words and spelling what I say. I haven't used my keyboard for the past month. This is how far we have come ar this time. We are still a bit further away from general AI. However, this scenario is completely believable to me, knowing people in these circumstances as I do, and knowing AI algorithms and models and using them as I have used them for the past couple of months. Furthermore. I have known billionaires, and I have been privy to some weird conversations in this arena. However outlandish the script might sound to you, it is actually very close to the truth. You just need to ask people in similar contexts. If you don't know people in similar contexts, you'll never get this. You'll never understand how close this is to the truth. I guess this is why this movie has such a low rating at this point. Let's face it, this is an elite thing. If you don't know the elite and if you don't know what they do and what they are doing and what they have achieved through these years, then you'll probably think this is complete fantasy. But it's not. I assure you this is not fantasy, this is very close to the truth.

This is fiction for sure, but in a couple of years this will become a documentary.
