In the bottom of the Mariana trench where the pressure is 1100 Kg per cm2, the bonus must certainly be great for reach the bottom of the sea including bring there our personal problem;that's the first thing I thought of these 300 technicians suddenly blown away by the opening of a Pandora's box but so far from sunlight it was to be expected. The film expresses art, it is technically flawless from the costumes of Dorotka Sapinska passing through the scenography of Naaman Marshall (art director of The Dark Knight) cinematographed by the Montenegrin Bojan Bazelli, ASC assisted by our italian Roberto De Angelis to the Steadycam (Public Enemies) last mention to the special effects of the British Moving Picture Company (MPC);so the feeling of a useless escape hunted down by the unknown is accompanied by the splendid electronic scores of the ever better Marco Beltrami (The Thing 2011, Scream) & Brandon Roberts (Soundtrack only available in digital download); Although William Eubank's UNDERWATER is influenced by masterpiece like Cloverfield or Alien, I felt clearly a sound of the Nostromo in their main room at the beginning of the film ,but talk about infulences I still have the androgynous beauty imprinted of Kristen in panties and I can not forget her great acting;so to close this review I would point out that the most banal error that can be done is to waste time comparing this outstanding movie to the already ones done forgetting what is being watched; if you do it in this spirit, you can only want to see it again and again because it is a unique film, a well-written, solid Lovecraftian nightmare that keeps you going until the last implosion.
I liked very much Peter's Berg(The Kingdom,Hancock)Battleship,to tell the truth I really loved this guy also as actor on Wes Craven's Shocker,anyway back to Battleship, I really loved the choice of 2D,I Just see in to a big theater equipped with 7.1 Dolby CP650 and DLP Christie CP2000,and it was an amazing ,terrific experience! So,despite some catchwords,Battleship is not Transformers on the sea,is not fake,weak and headacher ,but it keep a good solid direction with great use of cgi as I loved the use of AC/DC music OK,don't count causality's ,don't ask why this aliens are here and first of all don't send message in the space,just think to fight and enjoy some comic delight!Highly Recommended!!!
