A very winning cast, great location, superb kids' story to work with, good production make for some campy scariness for kids with entertainment for mom and dad as well. Charming little movie that appeals to the kid in all of us.The predicament of the cows really did make me laugh out loud.
The acting by one and all was excellent, especially Richard E. Grant as the head of the vampire family. He brought a non-threatening, yet nerve wracking (well, for kids, anyway) presence to the movie. His charming powers over Mrs. Thompson were hysterical, and the entire cast did very well with this movie.
One for the kids that mom and dad will enjoy sitting through, which is a rarity anymore, except for the likes of Shrek.
Oh, and I can't omit Rollo Weeks, as The Little Vampire himself. He was so charming, so perfectly nailed the role of Rudolph. As well as the role for arguably the cutest kid in movies, Jonathan Lipnicki, as Tony Thompson. The crush Anna had on him was acted out adorably by Anna Popplewell, as well. There was just great acting all around in The Little Vampire.
A job well done by all involved. This will make my list of movies to purchase just to share with my grandkids that someday I'll have to spoil. Campy, scary enough for the little ones and entertaining for their parents. What's not to like?

Johnny Depp has become one of the best actors of our time. Blow's George Jung is yet another of the "quirky" roles he chooses; the guy becomes whoever he's portraying, better than any other actor I can think of working at this time. He changes his looks so completely for the characters he chooses to play that it's downright amazing sometimes, and a rare thing. The effort he puts into his acting shows. You won't see Harrison Ford or Bruce Willis playing the kinds of difficult to nail roles that Depp chooses to challenge himself with.
There are very few actors out there who can make an entire movie worth watching simply by being in it. Depp is one of these actors, and his portrayal of the drug running George Jung in Blow proves this point again. The movie, as a whole, has flaws and weak spots, but the character that Depp becomes so completely carries the show, as he has done in almost every movie he's been in. I can't believe the kid from 21 Jump Street was able to move from that cheesy role into such fine character acting as Depp has done. Bravo to him, and if you haven't seen it yet, go rent Blow simply to watch a stellar actor in his prime.

Although it's lengthy, the time flew by while watching this little gem. Talk about a feel good flick. This movie was about as sweet as it gets, without a moment of saccharin. Beautifully rendered, excellently played by all, Lagaan is a keeper.
