This is an amazingly bad film! Truly, deeply awful, for those of us not understanding Icelandic, the English dubbing is heinous. But combined with a hazy, blurry plot line, groan-inducing acting and editing to cause cries of "what goes on here?" the beast is an ugly animal.
We the audience were unsure of what was going on, the actors looked like they didn't know, and if there was a director on the set, he certainly wasn't showing any sign of directing! If you want a truly great movie from Iceland of similar vintage, but light-years better watching, try Djöflaeyjan {Devil's Island) http://imdb.com/title/tt0116116

I saw this movie late one night and early the next morning, and was impressed with the sympathetic viewpoint of the complex Indian tribal situation.
This sure beats many movies which use "red men" as cannon-fodder, treating them as unique individuals with their own culture and reasons for doing things.

This movie is better than any poor reviewer can hope to describe, the cinematography is wonderful in it's magical balance of subtle effect, never getting in front of the story, simply underlining the current mood.
The clever use of time-flips, and "Was it all a dream" concepts, with the careful use of the barest minimum of special effects, means it is a more cerebral than visual thriller, but there are visuals to see! Maybe never to forget!
I highly recomend this movie, but as it is not readily available, one must keep a patient watch on film fests...
