The acting is over the top, the plot is pointless, and the comedy fails because they try too hard, but diehard fans of the first "Clue" VCR game as well as the 1985 movie will love this sequel.
If you enjoy actually playing the VCR version of the game (I do, but many don't), then go for it - otherwise, it might be worth hunting down a copy of this video just to laugh at it. Highlights include Sgt. Gray's chronic amnesia problems, many of the characters dressing up as each other, Sgt. Gray walking in on Col. Mustard while he's tied up in bed, and a wacky string of scenes involving microfilm hidden inside a fortune cookie.
Definitely not something that should be shown to inspire film students, but worth the time to look for if you're into silly low-budget videos.

I'll admit that I'm not a huge fan of old movies, but I watched this one because Hitchcock directed it. While certainly not his best, it reminded me of "North by Northwest": an innocent man being chased across the country by the bad guys.
I was afraid that it would be really dated and slow, but this was not the case. In fact, there are one or two scenes in there that are really suspenseful (the party scene, for instance). I kept hearing about the climactic Statue of Liberty scene at the end, but it gave me a sort of unsatisfied "Is that all?" feeling. Also (and don't read on if you haven't seen the movie), why in the world does Barry Kane try to help Fry as he's about to plummet to his death? Fry killed his best friend and is responsible for him being chased across the nation, yet Kane risks his own life to save him! Perhaps it would have been better if the two of them started scuffling around on the statue's hand instead - that would have been much more exciting.
Aside from the letdown of a conclusion, the film is actually quite good. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys Hitchcock's films.

I kind of liked playing this game, although none of my friends could either understand it or like it. The great thing about this video, though, is the video itself. It is, in one word, hilarious! The producers, director, and actor knew that they were making a two-bit story for a silly game and totally ran with it.
I first got this game when it first came out (on Beta!) and I watched it constantly, and even have the whole thing memorized. The story is unrealistic and twisted and the characters are very stereotypical, but it's jolly good fun!
Watch it with your friends and you'll be quoting lines from it for months!
For those who want more, try watching "Clue II: Murder in Disguise," which is a little less funny because they're trying too hard but still a great time.
