A weird show, 2 series and very little coherent overarching plot with nothing ever really being explained.
Some strong characters and individual moments, but the characters motivations seem to shift with the wind.
I think the idea was that Andrew is a bumbling idiot that Stephen thinks is actually secretly a criminal mastermind, like some kind of French farce, but it just falls flat.
It almost feels mean spirited to review it, but in itself it's a fascinating study in having all the components to make something decent, and coming out with something odd.
Maybe that is the point of it all, it's like an alien came to earth and pretended to be a sitcom but got crucial bits wrong.

A brave idea - make a terrible version of the original as a 'Goes Wrong Show' style comedy sequel. If you can brave the opening 20 minutes and get past the first credits then the movie itself is pretty decent, if under-written and lacking in flesh.
For the 60 minutes run-time you get a reasonable attempt at a cake, but unlike the original the layers are not as rich or satisfying, and I suspect many casual viewers last 10-15 mins before moving on. This said - as a package on the blu-ray with the original it makes a suitable desert course and a lovely companion piece and this raises my rating to that of something for even casual fans.
Metamovies have moved on a little since this, but as an attempt to pastiche cash-in movies on successful Indy hits it works well enough, although a little tighter script and characterisation would have made the last 20 mins all the more satisfying. Probably not worth upgrading to the Blu-Ray version that includes this - but good enough that you should aim to buy the complete version of the movie that has this on the disk if you didn't already own it.

A series of short stories, mostly about dating, with the framing device that a wizard wrote them so you might click on the thumbnail. The wizard is also an out of work actor and writer, and all of the dialogue and writing feels like it was by someone that has only recently met humans for the first time. Every joke comes in triplicate
The first short was so bad I struggled to remember details while the second was on.
The second stars one of the least likable or believable characters ever.
The third is a very odd monologue.
There are better written and acted shows on YouTube. Although as the cameras look decent and the editing is better than Madame Webb my guess is this is a film school collaboration. Hope you all passed.
