This story is set in the Northern US, presumably Montana because they mention the Blackfeet Reservation. However the beautiful exteriors were shot in Slovenia and neighboring Hungary. For the interiors a large, detailed a d well-furnished set was built on a sound stage.
At its core this is a story about a single dad and his daughter bonding after difficulties arising from the mother's untimely death.
Paul Rudd is Elliot, an attorney on a business trip to the wilderness location of a very wealthy man. He is hoping to be retained so that he can earn enough wealth to set him and his daughter well for the future.
His teenage daughter is Jenna Ortega as Ridley. She is a very bright person and as things develop often she is the only one to look at the situation with good logic.
I watched this at home on Blu-ray from my public library. My wife read the synopsis and decided to skip. It is a very strange movie, after a young unicorn is killed the adult parents seek to get it back and in the process end up terrorizing the group of people, killing many of them. Many of the characters have very strange outlooks and also are played with humor.
I enjoyed the viewing but can't rate it very highly, but it has a warm ending.

My wife and I were looking for an entertaining movie after your usual Saturday night steak and wine dinner. With chocolate cake for dessert, of course. We found this one streaming on Peacock, the premise seemed interesting and we like the main actors, John Hamm and Tina Fey.
But it wasn't the movie we were hoping for, after about 20 minutes we abandoned it for a Hallmark-like romance movie.
However, the next day, while my wife was at the gym, I had to finish "Maggie Moore(s)". I was intrigued, I needed to know how it all turned out.
Shot in New Mexico, Hamm is the local Sheriff and Fey is the neighbor of the first Maggie Moore to die. A close enough neighbor that she could see and hear what was going on. About a week later the other Maggie Moore (no relation) died and the police soon began to suspect the two were somehow related.
In truth it is not that good a movie but it held my interest, enough to see how the mysteries were resolved. There is a scene where a mechanic tells her the passenger side air bag needs to be replaced but she balks at the $3200 it would cost, and that decision becomes a critical part at the end.

Set in the California wine country, it was actually filmed in British Columbia. Many of the scenes appear to be at Porteau Cove just a few miles north of Vancouver where my kids and I camped in 1990.
Natalie Dreyfuss is Jessie, a talented photographer who at one time worked for a publication but now prefers the local scene. Her friend runs the winery and will be the photographer for an upcoming wedding.
The bride has a brother, Anthony Konechny as somewhat famous actor Shane. As fate (and script) would have it the photographer and the actor, both healing from broken off relationships, quickly take a great liking to each other.
As an aside of sorts, Dreyfuss is tiny, listed as 5'2" and is slender. Konechny is large, listed as 6'3" and built. The two of them next to each other is an interesting contrast.
Anyway, my wife and I watched this movie streaming on Prime. Mostly predictable it was still a pleasant viewing with attractive actors and great scenery. It is not a Hallmark movie but still follows their method, and what we call the "Hallmark Kiss" comes during the last minute of the movie.
