I loved this show!!! The story was about a couple who had 8 adopted children. With a family that size, I'm sure you can imagine the chaos of the household (think Seventh Heaven or Just the Ten of Us). It had it's funny moments as well as it's serious ones (including teen parents and some of the kids searching for biological parents). On the season finale, Jessie (the mother) was surprised to learn she was pregnant, considering she had been told she would never have children biologically years earlier. The show was not picked up the next season, which really ticked me off. I really think this show would do well in syndication on Fox Family or Pax TV; I would definitely watch it again.
This was an excellent movie that held my attention the entire 4 hours it was on TV. What makes it more interesting is to know that it's based on a true story. It all starts when 14 year old Cinnamon shoots and kills her stepmother and then tries to kill herself. The story unfolds from there into a web of lies, deception, and seduction. I don't want to give too much away, so I'll just say that if you're into the kind of movies shown on Lifetime TV, check your TV Guide or run to your video store - this is definitely one worth watching.
Cucumber (which stands for Childrens Underground Club of United Moose and Beaver for Enthusiastic Reporters) was one of my favorite shows when I was younger. It starred Moose and Beaver, the leaders of the club. I don't remember too many specific details, but I do remember they would give out writing assignments and if you sent them in they would send you back a Cucumber button. They would go on little adventures -- once they went to an Old West town and once Moose thought he had been named "Moose of the Year." (It was a typo--- it was really Mouse of the year and meant for Mickey) And one assignment I remember was to write a list of ways to get from "here to there." Okay, I guess I lied. I do remember quite a bit about this show.
