Wish it was on an international streaming service with subtitles, so the whole world would know more about Egypt's finest, 'Kamla Abu Zekry'! This women creates art in the most sincere and beautiful way possible. I truly feel privileged that I share her same language and heritage, and only hope that one day the world will finally know and acknowledge the genius she is.

I never, really never write reviews on IMDb, but this is a hidden foreign gem. An Egyptian ground breaking series, Kamla Abu Zekry gave us one of the brilliant genius TV series about women's jail.

Nelly Kareem gave the performance of her life in this TV show, episode 13 was an absolute wonder. she should be an international Emmy nominee or something for her iconic/genius/gut wrenching role, her gesture and eyes were enough to deliver messages hundred of words couldn't describe.

The musical score add to the dramatic effect of the show, and with a wonderful supporting cast (Dorra, Ruby, Salwa Khattab, Ahmed Dawood, reham Haggag) this is a classic.

I should also point out that it's an all female ensemble cast, for a middle eastern country to give us such a powerful feminist show, is incredible.

The characters are closer to your mind and heart from an episode to another. You live with them and have is getting you to understand the hidden layers of the society, their problems and their day to day struggles. I didn't feel the bluntness and rudeness of showing those under the radar societies unlike what has been a trend over the past years. I didn't like the close ups at all, the photography could've been much better and would've delivered better results.

My favorite thing about this show is simply summed up in the title! Now we've seen dozens of really good scenes and plots of prisons and prisoners, but they were always men. Presenting such a major drama show about the lives of several women in and out of jail and how they spend their times from the perspective of both the prisoners/criminals and the jail keepers (which are all women) is rare in general and -with this quality close-up, almost a first time in the egyptian drama.

My next favorite thing is almost everything else. From the writing to the direction to the acting to the styling, not a single step that i dislike. I love the way the show portrayed a combination of complicated feelings: Passion, betrayal, revenge, fear, anger, attachment, self-judgment and self-acceptance. It also puts a huge spotlight on different society standards in modern Egypt.

Although some non-major role actors did a noticeably terrible job, Nelly Karim as Ghalia, in my opinion, she was incredible to the point that all her other roles in other TV shows except for "Zat" would seem awful if compared to this one! Dorrah too was surprisingly excellent, and Ruby perfectly played the housemaid. However, my favorite characters were: Zeinat, played by Nesreen Amine, and Aziza, by Salwa Khattab.

This show definitely deserves 10/10!

I used to avoid Dorrah's works honestly. In this work, I wish she and Kamla Abu-Zekra receive my sincere congrats.

Kamla, you are brilliant. You re-shaped talents of Nilly, Dorrah and Ruby.

I was crying every night, while i was watching your impressive work.

i felt pain and sorrowfulness of Ghalia. I wish i could help Dallal and rescue her form that miserable life that none gave her a hand, including her birth-mother. I felt sorry for other sub-stories. I was trying to find solutions to their problems.

I couldn't feel sorry for execution of Reda. This also shows how the work touched our sentiments!
