Melodramatic and too soap-operay at times but kept itself interesting with good writing and great performances from the actors.

In the beginning, the series was quite good, but ten years have passed since then. Now in 2025, the series has become a dull relationship drama.

It used to focus more on medicine, which was interesting, but now the 24-minute episodes are just characters talking about their own lives, where everyone is struggling.

There is no long-term plot and tension in the series, but each episode is separate from the other. Previously, the series claimed to be different from Finland's most popular soap opera "Salatut Elämät" because all the performers in the Syke series are real actors.

It's not anymore, but public figures flash on the screen in every episode. This series could be continued with the same method for even 70 years. Writing is easy when the plot is as complicated as Donald Duck.

Almost like Game of Thrones but more realistic and modern.

The show started strong, good writing and top actors. After four seasons, the Finnish public broadcasting company Yleisradio gave it up and it was sold to a commercial channel. Since then, the production has felt somewhat cheaper and storylines less realistic. In recent years, they have also had a tendency to hire soap stars or celebs with no formal training for new characters. Still, great acting for most main characters.
