Reipu zonbi: Lust of the dead - arata naru zetsubô

The highly controversial franchise draws to a close with the 5th and final movie, and it's about 2 movies too late.

This time we see the horny undead hordes, the Otaku and the conflicted cyborg all dominating the battle. Using time travel and the few resources left, can women stand strong or will they fall extinct dooming the human race?

The story of this franchise has always been questionable, but beyond that oddly complex and rather clever. The social commentary is remarkable, great debate material but in this one takes it to the very next level which will more than raise eyebrows.

The film accomplishes everything you'd expect, it's crude, it's crass, it's violent and it's stupid.

It's incredible the franchise lasted 5 movies, and despite my opinions of them I feel that it deserved a better finale than this.

The Good:

Some of the subject matter is fascinating

Some really poor sfx

Too much footage from previous films

The plot actually managed to get dumber

Weak finale
