People are always trying to find out what happened to relatives that just walked out of their lives.

Secrets take up space in our minds and weigh heavily on our lives. They often contribute to our sorrows and our generational dysfunction. I truly appreciate that these stories are heartfelt and respectful to the families researched. The story most close to my heart was Mr. Willie White's!! His vibrant spirit was uplifting. Researching the African-American slave experience and connecting the dots from deep south Mississippi to all parts of America, right to present day supports the importance of knowing your history. Each story, although profoundly different have more in common than not. We all seek meaning in our lives through our connections with family and community. Thank you for documenting such thorough fact-gathering discoveries! These families clearly see a brighter future after unveiling the dark secrets that bound them.

Just watched the Selman Family episode and Jane Seymour talks about a distant cousin of mine, the outlaw, John Wesley HARDING being shot in the back of the head by John Selman Sr.in 1895. This is not accurate and true information. My cousin was killed by Selman but his name was John Wesley HARDIN not HARDING. There isn't an G at the end of his last name. Every single time Jane Seymour says his name she calls him John Wesley HARDING.

FYI-My grandfather, John Wesley Hardin, was born five years after the killing and was named after our cousin the outlaw, John Wesley Hardin.

I really like this show and the genealogy history but they need to get their information correct before broadcasting misinformation.

This show is headed by Jane Seymour the family contact person is also from the UK. But up until now the cases investigated are from the USA. It leaves me wondering if the show was originally researched by an American production company but was not picked up and that Acorn TV took over a half finished product and used Jane as a video linked talking head who is used as a narrator story teller. It would be interesting if the families involved were British,European or Australian. Saying that I enjoy the show and look forward to each new episode released family history research seems to be something the UK does well compare who do you think you are the UK production seems far superior to the US version which I think is disjointed at least.
