Dude Bro Party Massacre III

This movie knows exactly what it's doing and what crowd it's aiming for: campy gore horror that's actually damn funny. This flick is a great time and has some great comedic moments. Normally humor is an afterthought in horror movies, but DBPMIII pulls it off right and the actors pull of the material perfectly. The writers and direction treat the material with respect and you can tell this was made with love in every way. If you want something serious, this aint it, but if you love films like Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Murder Party and Hatch, you're in for a treat.

So this is my first review here on IMDb, but I read on that was mostly negative and I just had to defend this trash jewel. This is a very fun movie it has great special effects, like old horror movies that don't rely on CGI at all. A Micheal Bay fan will not enjoy this gore fest. If you love movies that are made to be bad like Kung Fury or Black dynamite then you are going to love this one. Give it a try seriously. Summary: I'll try to keep this short and spoiler free. A stereotypical over the top fraternity is suspended from campus due to a prank gone wrong. They are send to an old haunted house in the woods. After that it all follows a known recipe horror fans know and enjoy. The director did a good job making the movie look like a 70's horror film. The writing team also did a great job as there were lots of funny jokes. The comedy part is also the best part of the movie, don't expect to be scared if you have seen a lot of horror movies before. 7/10

For a relatively lower budget film, the overall look was well done by paying homage to those slasher horror films of the 1980's. The story isn't anything new or entirely original but there is an engaging factor to be had.

It is entirely purposeful made to be over the top with the obvious over acting with each character's delivery and tone of voice. It's entirely cringey and cheesy but that's the point, though at times it was a little too much. Many seem to claim this was humorous and very funny but it really wasn't. We understand the comedic and parodic style of humor but the majority of the jokes were just too silly and nothing really clever.

Besides that, it's not meant to be taken serious. It is quite more graphic with more violent gore than expected. Including a scene with the villain using a gardening tool and stabbing it through an apparent pregnant woman's stomach showing the newborn baby ultimately doing damage killing both. Certainly one of the highlights.

It essentially plays off as a a typical slasher with the villain killing one member of the fraternity one by one with a various different kills. Most unoriginal but some rather unique and decent.

Another solid touch is the use of these brief ads playing throughout the film, in a grind house fashion.

Overall quite an entertaining film but nothing too special.

Dudebro is a blatant farce on found footage movies, on straight-to-TV flicks, on horror tropes, etc.

If anyone has seen the shorts made by 5SecondMovies, the company behind this production, they'll know that all the stupid, often terribly executed effects and plot devices are intentional.

It's a chance to revel in the mediocrity of it all, a chance to sit back and laugh at the actors and the genres the film represents as a whole. It's very self aware, and all-the-more moving in it's desire to be nothing more than fun and fancy-free. Something Hollywood should be more willing to capitalize on in an age where cynicism has become a cruise control to cool.

Hey, I'm a big fan of comedy horror...and this is...1 to to watch when drunk or wasted or with friends while drunk. This movie knows exactly what it is...a very bad comedy horror that is a parody of 80s slasher flicks. That's really all I neec to say. Explains the whole premise. If you love parody/ comedy-horror, then this is what you need to watch! It is currently "free" on Amazon Prime as of May 10th, 2020.
