West of England

Does anyone besides me think that Stephen Murray, who narrates this short travelogue, sounds like Joseph Cotten in the timber and and pitch of his voice? He's got a bit of an accent here that I think is supposed to be Gloucestershire, but the resemble seems remarkable.

As is this travelogue. It's part lovely Technicolor images of the Stroud Valley in western England, part pitch for the milled wool of the local factories, and pure exercise in nostalgia, for the lost herds of sheep and fading small mills of the area. The images are lovely, those colors that only Technicolor seemed able to produce, and then only in England. No one seems to know why.
