I subscribed to PEACOCK to watch this series and am more than disappointed. I am not doing a 'spoiler' alert thing because is a documentary and the ending has yet to be finalized. The first episode deals entirely with reviewing already known facts, with only a one-minute teaser with Mrs. Huermann. In the second episode she almost blushes like a schoolgirl when she revisits her meeting and 'landing' Rex. Amazing. In this and the remaining episodes Asa mostly attempts to rationalize everything away, even as pertains to the murders which coincides with her and her children's absences. She also opines almost as an expert that nobody with children could have committed these crimes. Obviously, she never heard of BTK, whose daughter figures prominently in Episode three. There is never any real challenge to Asa when pertinent facts are presented to her. In the last episode, she is presented with the fact that there was DNA evidence of hair matches to both her and her daughter on at least one of the victims and her lawyer-like response was 'circumstantial'. If you are expecting any honest responses from her, don't waste your time. She was obviously coached by her attorneys so don't expect any epiphany from her. In my opinion, Mrs. Huermann will wear blinders for the rest of her life. My sympathies lie with the children since I do believe his true identity was as a serial killer and he intentionally married someone like Asa to create a sham of a family life from which to carry out his trade. That is something his daughter will have to question for the rest of her life.

This 3 part series was gripping from beginning to end. Better than netflix's as this doc actually got the family to be involved and got access to the house where the crimes are suspected to have taken place.
Many parts of it will make your blood boil, other parts will make you empathetic (not for the killer, but for the family), and some parts will make you gasp in horror. Honestly, some of the details were more than i expected and cannot fathom.
Very well done. Detailed but not boring and had a great pace throughout. Can't wait for season 2...which i'm assuming will happen when the trial finally stats.

I'm a big true crime fan so I know this story pretty much backwards and forwards. In fact, I hadn't planned to watch it until it mentioned that the killer's wife was finally going to talk. Not only does she speak, but so does their daughter and to a lesser extent her son by her first husband. We also spend quite a bit of time in the house they lived in and where some of the murders occurred. The man had almost 300 guns of all types and kept them in a vault(like a bank)in the basement where no one else was allowed to enter. That's just a couple of facts we learn. I came away from watching this feeling like the wife was delusional. I think that will be a lot of people's take on this as well. I found myself yelling at my tv during several parts. It was all pretty sickening with what he did and details told by the defense attorney. Pretty well done, I thought.
