To be honest, this show is great. While everyone is saying it's scripted / staged, when actually everything blends in, the cameras, the "renovation" theme.. the workers may ask what's with the cameras all over but who actually sits and wonders of such a small detail.
You should enjoy the show because it's a new renovation concept. And of course it has that kitchen nightmare plot, cause what can he do new, break the entire building and make a new one? While the one talented chef gets his dream come true out of nowhere, the owners of the restaurants get to change their lives !
And on top of that, you think there aren't many restaurants with the exact problems and difficulites you see in each episode? Big surprise, there are freakin a lot. You should use your imagination a little bit more before delivering such critics, i dont believe it's staged, but nonetheless, you should be 100% sure Gordon recieves thousands of messages from people asking him for help, for exactly that kind of help. The show delivers, that s all i can say. Gordon, 10 out of 10 for the nice changes you did !

Having trouble understanding where the local health dept is. Latest show has outdated fire extinguisher from 2015. I cannot help but to believe the episode is staged. Ten years no inspector questioned the expired fire extinguisher, inoperable stove. Don't go to restaurants in Phoenix.
Larry sure as heck has issues and why swai on cooler and catfish in car. Again where is the health department, where is the inspectors how can any of this be possible. Seems fishy that this is real versus staged. Love some of the other Ramsay shows but this one just seems fake. If it is not then how can this happen in Phoenix.

Ditch the forced drama set ups. We loved Kitchen nightmares because the drama was more sincere and natural. Gordon spent days with the owners and staff in the original series. This is just supplanting real emotion and situations with dramatic set ups.
Gordon is forcing himself to sound like he's in a continuous state of emergency. Even the real secret service isn't this dramatic and Hollywoodish. Actually, if Gordon took these restaurants as seriously as a real secret service agent would then I could follow along.
Take your own advice on how to cook and run a restaurant and keep it simple, tasteful, and honest.
You've got too much money to play with and it's ruining what should be another hit. Fire that shady and greedy writing executive that's ruining a great name with this mediocre bs.

With several new cheesy spy themed graphics and sound effects. Otherwise, it's exactly the same format as Kitchen Nightmares. It is still moderately entertaining, but would be better without all the extra gimmicks and such. I'm not entirely sure why a show like this has to have all the extra dramatic nonsense. People like home makeover shows and the like (HGTV is very popular and nobody is screaming and crying on those shows), and other cooking shows/travel shows featuring restaurants just keep it classy, but for some reason Fox thinks nobody will watch Gordon Ramsay if he's not making somebody cry. Personally, I would really like this show if it was a little lighter on the gimmicks and manufactured drama.
I don't think anyone watched Kitchen Nightmares and thought "I wish they would spend more time in the absolutely vile kitchens", but that's exactly what this is! More digging through filth, and less of the first performance in the remodeled restaurant.
I did always wonder in Kitchen Nightmares why Gordon would eat the food prior to the kitchen inspection, but that revolved more around the order of operations, not a desire to see more grime and critters! Generally I like watching Gordon Ramsay shows while eating something so I don't get hungry with all of the food footage, but this had the absolute opposite effect.
As for the rest of the show, they try to inject drama by hyping up and revealing an insider who is helping Gordon. For me, I couldn't care less. It just creates a lot of work to do to introduce people, hype up this drama, and then when everything's fine reveal who it was. Might as well just do Kitchen Nightmares, this only detracts and doesn't add any value.
