The Killing Field

I watched the Killing Field January 2015. It was well done with a majority of the concept being thought out and over all it was very well rounded. I liked the concept and the way the director shot the scenes. The only thing that was missing was that a lot of it seemed forced. It wasn't till it ended that I realized that it was a made for TV movie and not a TV show. Which explains why some of the dialog feels rushed as well as bits in the middle and towards the end. Had they chosen to extend the movie to a two or three night event I think it would have been a much better canvas for the story they were painting. The story unfold slowly so it would have made more sense to let more time pass for the viewer. Plus some of the characters could have benefited from having more time to watch them and get to know them. Other characters seemed to be too hurried and choppy. Over all I think you won't be wasting your time.

As another critic has mentioned, as a police procedural, bloody pathetic.I would have thought that the producers would have had real cops give instruction on how cops do stuff.

A cast of capable Aussie actors who seemed totally disinterested in their roles.

Worst of all......the soundtrack.....the constant repetitive looped sound of a 70's computer game....space invaders or something....unbelievably painful

Pretty decent film and much better than some of the reviews indicate imo.

Solid cast, good plot but a rather predictable ending.

Good concept poorly executed. Quite a good story. Poorly scripted. Poorly acted. Poorly directed. Shame.

I couldn't stand Rebecca Gibney. I had to turn it off because of her scowling face! I don't think I ever watched the regular"Winter series" and this came up as a series. Sometimes instead of investing in the whole thing I'll watch a specific to the serie one. It was ok but it was a compilation of her and just was slow and not into it. I'm not a big fan of Aussie stuff( and my mum and grandmom hail from there). They're just not as good as UK series. I may give it a go again if I run out of things since I see it's a movie and not a series.
