Having been a Titanfall veteran from the beginning, I was hesitant what they would do with a campaign, or the new titans, or pilots, or anything in general, but Respawn did not disappoint. The campaign, although short, tells a gripping story with many unique aspects put in that led me to play through the campaign more than once. The multiplayer, however, is even better. One of my favorite additions is sliding, which although doesn't sound like much on its own, makes the game's already excellent movement system even more fluid. All of the new abilities, the weapons, the grenades, all feel like real additions ad give one a lot more choice for finding the perfect play style than other games. And the titans... I originally thought only have 6 titans with limited customization was a bad idea, but upon using them, I find it to be much more fun, as you get to choose one that perfectly fits your play style, and also know how to deal with what you are going against. Overall, it is rare for a sequel to improve on the original in every way, but this is a rare exception. 10/10
I didn't have high expectations for Titanfall 2. Not because I had doubts, but I just didn't know what to expect. Being a PlayStation gamer, I didn't get to play the first entry, so I was surprised up in finding out that a PS4 release was included for this game. Instead of it being "just another shooter," it became one of my favorite multiplayer experiences.
It's also a nice surprise that a campaign is included unlike in the first game. And while it only lasts about 6 hours, it was fun. Very fun. Sure, it may feel cliche at times, but most of it was unique, action-packed, and enjoyable. The mix between pilot and Titan gameplay worked in the campaign just as well as it does in multiplayer. It may not be long enough to get you too attached to the characters, but it is definitely worthwhile, so I suggest not skipping it.
The multiplayer, however, is the reason to get this game. It is fast-paced, intense, and works well with teamwork. It may look Call of Duty-ish at first, but there are many ways players can work with teammates to succeed. In terms of content, guns are a bit on short supply, but there are ample maps and game modes, as well as seven Titans to choose from, and lots of customization. The game will keep you entertained for a while. Best of all, the DLC is all free.
So what is Titanfall 2 in one word? Awesome. It isn't perfect, as the campaign could have been longer, and the overall gameplay is a bit repetitive, but I have enjoyed it more than any Call of Duty game. It is a shame it didn't sell well, but at least it won the hearts of many gamers and nearly won the GOTY award. Highly recommended, 9/10.

It's a bit ironic that Infinite Warfare and Titanfall 2 came out in the same month due to the similar setting + gameplay and connected development teams. The more daring Titanfall 2 ultimately takes the lead as it has one of the most memorable singleplayer campaigns in the shooter scene this decade. The vapid story makes no sense whatsoever and some of the extremely varied mechanics could have been used longer too as the game constantly jumps in style. No other grievances exist though but the campaign is on the shorter side (using the hardest difficulty lead to an 7 hour game). The multiplayer is basically the same as last time, just with more mech variety. I honestly had my fill last time, as there were no other modes previously, and the majority of shooter gamers seem to share my opinion. It's certainly fun for a few rounds though. I hope that the series will get a 3rd chance, as the sales weren't too impressive, but Titanfall now fully proved itself as worth new IP. 8,5/10
Let me just start off by saying that I didn't play the original Titanfall game as it was exclusive to the X-BOX. That being said I think this game wins out at least on the three way battle between Battlefield 1, and Infinite Warfare. The latter two are more well know and spend a whole lot more money on advertising so Titanfall 2 was kind of forgotten on its release.
The campaign's story is pretty straight forward and the missions use the game's mechanics quite well. There are moments when your entire terrain can be flipped and you must navigate through. Those are probably my favorite parts in the game. It is just stunning watching it happen. Combat is... well now that I think about it was a piece of cake. I played on the Hard difficulty and the regular soldiers were pretty useless. I could honestly run around and melee them all out. The robotic enemies posed more of a challenge but not by much. The titan battles in the campaign were fun for the most part. There are some annoying instances like titan mobility in closed spaces but even that is a big deal. The only real downside to the story is that is too short! I didn't track it but I think it took me between 5-7 hours to complete. I know they are focused on multiplayer and everything but we need an expanded story for Titanfall 3.
The game does well with the titan and pilot interactions. You get two options of dialogue and that sets up the one liners and other humorous gags. If EA continues to build the franchise; (you know they will) I think Jack and BT could be compared to the relationship of Cortana and Master Chief.
The multiplayer is great and actually has replay value. I am not a big fan of multiplayer but this one actually looks cool. I like the whole idea of pilots vs. titans feel. It felt fun and fresh trying to evade titan gunfire while also going after other pilots. Again I didn't play the first one but from what I have heard there wasn't titan customization as there are 6-8 different titan classes to choose from. Each one has their own strategic advantage and disadvantage so the playing field feels level. There are also more modes in multiplayer which is always a plus.
So Titanfall 2 is a big step up from its predecessor. It know includes a campaign and multiple modes and customization on their multiplayer. If you are looking for a great first person shooter this year this is the game to get.

What an exhilarating journey it turned out to be!
The graphics were stunning, easily deserving a perfect score of 10.
Gameplay was top-notch as well, with fluid mechanics and engaging challenges, earning another solid 10.
While the music and story were both rated 8, they still contributed significantly to the overall experience, enhancing immersion and emotional investment.
The connection with the characters felt genuine, scoring an 8, making each encounter memorable.
Although the campaign was short, every moment was packed with excitement, especially the adrenaline-fueled titan battles and exhilarating wall-running sequences. Despite being an 8-year-old game, the shooting mechanics felt fresh and unmatched. Saying goodbye to BT is bittersweet, as their presence added depth to the narrative and gameplay. Truly, it was an unforgettable ride that will be dearly missed.
