After many months, I left the theater feeling satisfied. The movie follows a simple and predictable storyline but is filled with classic elements of "OG" Sundar C, along with the signature comedy of "OG" Santhanam.
This film was made 12 years ago, but it's only being released now, and it still feels fresh. The standout feature of the movie is Santhanam, who single-handedly carries the film with his impeccable comedic timing. Every scene he's in is met with laughter from the audience. At one point, I even had a stomach ache from laughing so hard. The final 15-20 minutes, which feature Santhanam, the late Mano Bala, and others, are particularly memorable and had the theater in stitches. It's also worth noting the five songs typical of a Tamil film and some illogical fight sequences. While unrealistic, we still enjoyed them in the theater. At times, I felt like we'd missed these elements in the last 10 years of cinema.
I'm truly grateful to have watched this film. I don't understand why Santhanam isn't acting as comedian because every time he delivered a line, the theater erupted with laughter. The director, known for his comedy, has recently moved on to making horror films with lackluster comedic elements. He's one of the finest comedy directors, and I hope this movie's success encourages him to return to this genre.
This is a complete theater experience-an ordinary movie made extraordinary by its comedic sequences. It's a family-friendly film, though some of the glamourous moments might lean into comedy a bit too much.
Finally, my request is this: if Tamil cinema could create a movie like this 12 years ago, why are modern directors making such boring films? It's disappointing for both their reputation and their fans. I hope this trend changes soon.

Peak 2010s brainrot masala with Sundar C-isms through and through. Continuity issues, weird ass transitions, sexy heroines with no real purpose, catchy Vijay Antony tunes, robotic Bollywood-import antagonist (Sonu Sood), and most importantly Santhanam's one-liners -- you name it, this 12-year-old film has got it all! That much-talked-about slapstick stretch featuring Manobala (RIP), Santhanam, Mottai Rajendran, and Vishal is SO FUN, even when we've seen it all before. The "double six-pack" climactic set piece also delivers. It's purely riding on the nostalgia factor, nothing else. The body-shaming humor and objectifying dialogues were turn-offs though.
When I saw this film in the theater, I really liked all the comedy lines in it. Most importantly, Santhanam's comedy has worked very well in the film. Manobaala's comedy performance, which was talked about by everyone, was excellent.
This movie is family-friendly but at the same time it contains some Glamour. But they bloom in the film and won't make you frown in any way.
If you want to watch a movie with your family without thinking too much about anything, this is a good movie for that.
Since the film's screenplay was written 12 years ago, we can't really apply it to much today. But you don't realize that's a big flaw.

I mean it was a masala film with comedy, fight, emotions and stuffs. The comedy segment with Manobala was enjoyable to me. Santa's comedy made me laugh a few time though the crowd seemed to laugh (I honestly thought that they added the "crowed laughing" background sound in few instances). One thing that I made me very uncomfortable was definitely the Women objectification through the movie. The characters always ogled the actresses whenever they get a chance and made sure that we knew it verbally too. Like bro I can see you doing it you don't have to spoil my ears with your running commentary too. Idk maybe it has been a long time since I saw movies in that time period I guess 🤷♀️
I have no idea how stressful it must be for people who're waiting for their film to release, I don't know if people got paid for their work more than decade ago, but I'm happy that the film finally got a release and happier that it was a success.
This film....doesn't take itself seriously and you're in the wrong if you watch it any other way. It's a pointless movie and if you go in with that expectation, you're surprisingly not gonna be bored. The good parts are entertaining, the bad parts are so bad that they're so good. The biggest selling point of the film - It was not boring. It was so much better than Indian 2. So much better than Game Changer.
I've never been a fan of Santhanam's comedy, so I don't know why hype now, I don't get the "Come back to comedy Santa!" Mokka comedy pannitu laughter riot nu sonna.....to each their own. There's a fight in the film which, minus the heroism, almost makes you want to consider how good a serious hand-to-hand combat sequence with Vishal could be....
The comedy, the plot, the songs, everything about this film is at least 20 years too late. It would have been a 10-yr late film had it released on time in 2012. This delay worked out in its favor and I guess the nostalgia sold it to the crowds. It's a bad film, but it was not boring 😐
