A great addition to the series. A surprising amount of story and action is contained within this 5 min short. It builds directly from the movie that came before yet is easily accessible to anyone that is unfamiliar with the story or characters.
Easily recognizable voice actors add to it in a comedic way rather than detract from this simple kids movie and the humor is at multiple levels making it funny for all ages.
I saw it with my daughter in the Dolby theater as a free short that was played before Dog Man (2025). And I actually liked this short better than the main feature. Hopefully it will be released online as well.

'The Bag Guys: Little Lies And Alibis (2025)' is a five-minute short film that plays in front of 'Dog Man (2025)'. Set in-between 'The Bad Guys (2022)' and its upcoming sequel, the piece showcases the focal group's struggles to be 'good' in microcosm by depicting their chaotic journey to their final parole hearing. Its non-chronological structure, unreliable narration and distinctly energetic aesthetic make are all really enjoyable, but it ultimately feels as though it's over almost as soon as it begins thanks to its short duration and mile-a-minute pacing. Still, it looks absolutely fantastic and perfectly condenses the controlled mayhem of the movie into a shorter format, essentially acting as an advertisement for its upcoming big brother. It's effective at building hype for the sequel, which is arguably its main purpose, and it's generally enjoyable in its own right. It's mostly inconsequential, but fairly fun.

The "Bad Guys" are finally on the road to rehabilitation. So long as they can make it to the parole office in time, then their freedom is their's. Of course, the best laid plans and all that and their journey to said office is full of challenges and escapades as they have to thwart some criminal activities themselves. Luckily, they manage to get into an office and regale it's occupant with their daily adventures thus far, but... Yep, Houston - they have a problem! For something that's barely five minutes long, this packs loads in with plenty of light-hearted action and a surprising amount for each of the wolf/snake/spider/shark and piranha fish to get through, and I did like the denouement. You could make an ad out of that!

The Bad Guys: Little Lies and Alibis (2025) is the second short film in the Bad Guys franchise that played in theaters before Dog Man (2025) and I missed it since I didn't watch Dog Man (2025) in theaters. Thankfully, I got done watching the short film for free on YouTube and it was awesome.
Positives for The Bad Guys: Little Lies and Alibis (2025): I liked seeing the Bad Guys doing their best to turn their lives around and show they can change. The journey for these characters is awesome and funny. And finally, the ending with the Bad Guys realizing that they're in the wrong place and need to get to their parole officer was absolutely hilarious.
Negatives for The Bad Guys: Little Lies and Alibis (2025): This short film was only made to remind people about this franchise even though The Bad Guys 2 (2025) is coming out next month.
Overall, The Bad Guys: Little Lies and Alibis (2025) is an awesome short film and the best entry in the Bad Guys franchise since the first movie and I can't wait to watch The Bad Guys 2 (2025).
