It's pretty funny. There are some unfunny moments but, the best segment of this show is "A Closer Look". The celebrity interviews like every show are probably on average the most boring. I also like all of his side segments. He's no Colbert but, hes also a better than Fallon. Jimmy Fallon really is hesitant to ever criticize any politician. I love that Seth Meyers has the balls to criticize any politician. That being said, its a pretty entertaining show. The main segments could be longer and the celebrity interviews a little shorter though. <-- That would be my main criticism.

What the heck happened to the makeup on poor ol' Seth. It looks like they just sort of painted on a hideous orange oval (that you could see the border of when he's in profile) over his face.

The band looked great. The guests looked as good as you could have expected - I love Paul Bettany but he's only 50 and his neck is man-pushing-70 creapiness. It's distracting.

But my poor TV couldn't figure out how to naturalize Seth's face.

And don't get me started on that wig/hair. I hope it's a wig. It looked terrible.

If I did anyone's hair or makeup that badly, I'd be out of the industry by morning.

Premise: I'm european.

And I find most US talk shows of this kind way over the top. It feels ridiculous most of the times.

I understand why, historically: there used to be two or three absurdly relevant ones, with universally loved hosts that were as important as the president but lasted much longer and developed this incredible devotion over the years.

Fine but now there's a dozen brand new talk shows like this so maybe calm down. You have to earn that crazy respect instead of faking it: take yourself less seriously, be kind and rewarding with your selected audience, make it a nice time among friends.

This is exactly what Seth does best.

If you follow the show, most of the things that people seem to hate in reviews seem to fit perfectly. Guests are rarely superstars for the easy youtube clicks, they're people Seth likes and can have a fun conversation with. Jokes are soberly funny and sometimes just silly, to the point that Seth often jokes about how insecure he is about them. He doesn't show the absurd and pathetic confidence that other hosts have, even when they deliver a bad joke with no irony about it. That really makes me cringe.

All talk show writers have to deliver way too much material for it to be always good. But I enjoy much more a lame joke when it's delivered in a humble way. That's why I perceive Seth more like a friend than other God-like hosts.

The whole writing process is exposed and demystified in the show through jokes about his writers. They become characters and make you feel like the team is just a group of friends. These grew even stronger after the lockdown and massively rewarded the audience loyalty. Many new segments are self-referential but not in an arrogant way, just to make fun of the show.

Then, of course, there's a strong political element, which I find myself quite in tune with or I probably wouldn't enjoy the show. He's very open about it and I don't agree with all of the points of view but it makes fine segments.

It's not a talk show everyone enjoys. But it gets better and better for those who do.

Wow. If this is the level of comedy that people are watching these days, then I must really be missing something, because I can't point out a single point throughout the run-time of this show when I even cracked a smile.

Seth Meyers had a fun role on SNL. Doing the same thing over and over again there was part of the SNL culture. But a late night show requires dynamism and character, an improvisational feel, humor... This is by far the worst late night show put together. It is indeed a mystery to me how this has been airing for so long... I really wonder how much the channel pays entertainment news sources not to talk about how unfunny and uninteresting this show is.

When Seth Meyers' own brother is one of the most repeat visit guests, it tells me one thing: even the celebrities and their agents don't want them to air on this show to relieve them from the tedious and embarrassing nature of it. I mean seriously, the last episode I watched had a 5 minute discussion between him and his brother about how useless twitter is. We know twitter is useless. The people who use it know it's useless. It's a boring subject, and so is every. other. subject. on. this. show. I feel like the target audience of this show is hospital patients, as if they weren't already going through enough.

It's painful to watch this series. It makes me hurt on the inside because I feel like I'm wasting valuable minutes on completely pointless conversation. I really don't know how so many unfunny people managed to find each other to collaborate on this wasted effort. Worse yet, it's airing internationally! Everyone I talk to about this show is as upset about it as I am. Why aren't viewer ratings being considered? Please, if you value comedy, end your careers and free air-time for something that isn't thoroughly boring.

The show has improved a lot. Seth definitely seems in control whenever he is pushing his political agenda (even though he needs to tone that down a bit). The "Closer Look" segment is the best part of his show and I am always looking forward to that. His show is different from the other late night shows because it is more educational. The show has taken itself seriously. The regular complain about the show not being funny enough is valid but that's a direction that the makers have decided and they want to attract a certain kind of audience. Conan is funnier than any other talk show host but its not your traditional late night show, is it?

From the monologues to his guest interactions, it's staged, artificial and monotone. Utterly dreadful. As a place holder for the 12:35 timeslot, I guess that makes him a perfect fit? (high pitched inflection mixed with confusion)

His segments, namely the 'Ya Burnt' segments are not purposeful. It seems as though this is an attempt at a catch-phrase. While seeing past SNL cast members on the show can be entertaining, the awkward interview with Maya Rudolph was more of a plea than anything else to get her to impersonate Rachel Dolezal. The timing and nature of the interview didn't welcome the impersonation as Seth might have hoped. It was just unnatural.

There are comedians in existence who execute 'smart-comedy' masterfully. Seth isn't one of them.

Although I tend to skip the monologue because it's overtly political. I get that's his niche. I really look forward to the thanksgiving episodes. I tear up at the family video clips sometimes. He seems very approachable. I like the more relaxed look.

I looked forward to Seth taking over Late Night after Jimmy left since Jimmy was super amazing and always entertained. But Seth rapidly turned into Rachel Maddow on a constant rant about politicians and political views that he deemed to be too stupid for words though he had plenty of words to make fun of them.

I stay up late and get up late and there is not much on late at night and I was looking forward to a good, entertaining program like Jimmy Fallon had. But Seth has been getting worse during the election season with his diatribes against anyone but Hillary Clinton. I have tried to overlook these segments but they have been getting more frequent and longer sometimes lasting for close to what seems like ten minutes.

I have had enough. I will not be spending my nights watching Seth Meyers but watching something that entertains me and wants me to watch their show not convert me to their political philosophy and candidate. I had such high hopes but someone wants to use Late Night to promote politics instead of help people have an enjoyable time during the hour that people spend with Late Night hoping for a nice end to an evening.

I think this is an important show, especially for those of us who don't want to spend a lot of time on political news. I think he should focus on a little more than just Trump, and goes a bit overboard on him, however.

Since day one, I watched every episode but he has succeeded to finally turn me off. The show should be renamed Late Night MSNBC. I don't want to end my night getting aggravated by politics. I am an independent who voted for Obama but Seth's constant bashing of Republicans is totally turning me off. I have noticed his mean attacks are even aimed at Sanders, as if Seth has made it his mission to get Hillary "Republicans are my enemy" Clinton elected. Bravo Seth! Good job making a loyal viewer give up on you. Even though I think your comedy is funny (Love the Venn Diagrams, Florida or Truth, Dog Shaming) your politics is not. Goodbye for now. If you decide to be a true comedy show in the future, I may consider watching again.

Love his show. He's spot on calling out president on all his lies and BS. His corky comedy jokes/skits are what you expect from him. Some of the jokes are out there but that's how he does it. I always get a laugh when watching his show. I was lucky and got tix to see his show and the experience was great. From moment showed up at building till we left. Staff is super friendly and helpful. They have a comfortable waiting area unlike most other NY shows you go see. Seth takes time to come talk to audience and he's not rushed. He stood there calmly talking and interacting with everyone. Was nice that he wasn't so full of himself like most. The comedy guy is funny and calls you out. As with every show audience u have to cheer and laugh but their not yelling at you to do it for some long amount of time. I loved the experience the show was funny the band was great. Would love to go back next time I'm in NY area. Any day Seth is better, funnier and has balls unlike Jimmy Fallon. Go Seth.

Who is this guy again? Is he supposed to be telling jokes? He's so unlikeable. I feel like someone very important personally likes him and gave him this show hoping that others will be forced to adopt his bad taste in comedy. Like someone said "Seth Meyers isn't funny" and then a rich person said "that's mean! I'll show you how funny he is by giving him this show!"

He's just punchable. His entire schtick is laughing at his own jokes. He has this entitled attitude like he's showing up for "just another day at the job". But he's so nauseatingly unremarkable that he should at least put forth a modicum of effort towards clarifying why he has the job in the first place.

He's so safe, contrived, mediocre, boring, that it's borderline insulting that this is what producers thought the American public would like. He has this anesthetic quality about him, as if he's some cut out meant to induce a mass mental pacification of America. His glazed eyes, nondescript face, nasally voice, paint-by-the-numbers jokes, and SNL club membership all just frame this picture of a guy who doesn't deserve his job but will get it anyway because the viewers have no voting power over the fossorial tastes of our corporate owners.

The show is a bit twisted. It is much better than the Late Late Show which I find is a bit manic for no reason. But Seth's delivery is professional and usually funny. The skits on the show are funny or odd and that is good too. I do believe that Fred needs to be there more often. I also like that it has, like Jimmy Fallon, a direct line to the talent on SNL. I can find no real issue with the jokes. Some hit and some don't but lets look back to Dave letterman and even Johnny Carson. Some of their stuff didn't hit at all. So picking on Seth for having a few jokes go south is just as easy on any show. Overall I like watching the show just about every night.

Seth Prides himself on his education and literary aspirations, so I imagine that he has read Melville's Moby Dick. But is he aware that he has become a living incarnation of Captain Ahab and that Donald Trump is his Great White Whale? What started out as an amusing, often intellectually playful format has devolved into a political screed that often sinks into venomous vulgarity. The show has gone beyond painful to watch and it is clear that its host needs some form of psychological intervention. Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, and David Letterman knew how to throw a good political harpoon into a politician but they never carried it to the point of dragging themselves and their shows into the abyss. Can Seth Meyer's Late Night be saved? Unless its host experiences a philosophical sea change, it seems an unlikely possibility.

I hated this show. Period. Now, I've watched recent episodes and it is gold. Like way better than before. Its actually he shame he took so long to find his groove because I guarantee any former daily show fan frustrated with Noah will likely be satisfied with Seth's first 15min. every night as supplement to Noah's awfulness. Seriously, I understand where ll the bad reviews came from; but, you people really need to give it another look---or, "a closer look" (as is the name of a consistently great political satire piece he does!). I keep going back hoping it will be better, thinking that maybe Seth Meyers has improved over time, but with every clip I watch I am continually left disappointed. Not only is Seth Meyers just generally annoying and smug, but his jokes often fall flat and his questions are usually a bore. I will click on a video because of a clever headline and a guest that I like, but instead of being amused I usually end up just listing to Meyers laugh awkwardly at his own terribly executed jokes. The writing is sub-par and the host is a total failure. I honestly don't know how this show is still on the air. Meyers wasn't that good on SNL, so I don't how he was chosen to host a late night talk show. This show is not worth a second of your time. Spare yourself.

Why are some late night television shows allowed to maintain air time for so long compared to other decent television series which get shelved prematurely? What I will say however is that no one that I know really cares (less) about Late Night with Seth Meyers. I propose that if Seth Meyers wants to stay on the air that he moves over to even a later time slot and maybe over to a public broadcasting station. Then when there is a public funding drive the producers would see by the low (or NO) financial contributions that Seth Meyers should be taken off the air permanently.

When Meyers took over for Jimmy Fallon who got promoted to the prime time slot with the Tonight Show (when Jay Leno was asked to retire) there was a bit of fan fare that both Fallon and Meyers were being provided with a unique opportunity to show how well they could initially build and then sustain their own fan bases.

I must say that I really do enjoy Jimmy Fallon and his style of physical comedy as well as his personal interactions with his guests. As for Seth Meyers? What does he do but continually (write?) spew pitiful monologues and then he habitually takes a very long, long pause until people have no choice but to applaud before he proceeds with the next lame joke in his nightly boring monologue. As for the number of people who have rated the Late Night with Seth Meyers show, it has been on the air for almost a year and there have only been 645 people who have even taken the time to provide an IMDb rating. So for the rest of you people who are gainfully employed by Late Night with Seth Meyers I would suggest that in an effort to secure your employment you may want to improve the existing 6.1 rating before the plug is pulled. If the number of IMDb users who actually took the time to rate Late Night with Seth Meyers is an indication of the waning interest in the show then lets get the numbers straight. There have been a total of (two) 2 people who have even taken the initiative to write a review with my own review being the second one since the show went on the air.

I rest my case, and I only wish the producers would take the hint and can this boring show for good so some real talent is provided an opportunity to shine and entertain their audience which is what a late night talk show is intended to do.

I did a quick summary of the sixty (60) IMDB reviewer ratings who provided a rating score and I discovered the following anomaly:

1. 10 of the 60 ratings scored 8/10 or higher 2. 50 of the 60 ratings scored 4/10 or lower 3. 45 of the (50 above) 60 ratings scored only a 1 out of 10 (because you can't enter a zero (0) score)

The anomaly is that of the 5,149 people who provided an IMDB rating for this piece of crap the average IMDB rating is still 6.1?

Who are you going to believe if this show is average to good, or really, really, really bad?

When Jay Leno announced his retirement of hosting NBC's The Tonight Show in 2014, Jimmy Fallon, known for being a cast member on NBC's Saturday Night Live for 6 years (with him anchoring Weekend Update for his last 4) and hosted Late Night for 5 years, was announced that he'll be the new host of The Tonight Show, meaning that he'll be passing the torch of Late Night to the next guy, and that person is Seth Meyers.

Like Fallon, Meyers was also a cast member on SNL, and was known mainly for anchoring Weekend Update, co-anchoring with Amy Poehler for his first 2 years on Update until Poehler went on maternity leave and her eventual leaving the show, with him anchoring solo for most of the rest of his tenure until he was joined by Cecily Strong for the first half of SNL's 39th season. He would leave SNL midseason when he was announced as the new host of NBC's Late Night.

Meyers was notably nervous throughout his first year and a half of his tenure, but he did get more comfortable once the producers started to cater the show more towards his strengths, especially with his recurring bits like A Closer Look (my 2nd personal favorite bit), Corrections, Amber Says What? (which shoutout to Amber Ruffin, whom I absolutely love), Day Drinking (my personal favorite bit) and tied for my 2nd favorite recurring bit, Jokes Seth Can't Tell.

If you're a fan of Seth Meyers, then you won't regret watching his current show!

Let me say from the outset that I am not one to watch any of the late night shows. That being said, "Late night with Seth Meyers" is the worst of the current stock of late night shows. While the guests that he manages to get can be interesting or funny - Seth Meyers' interviewing style and his own brand of humour are just not funny. I especially do not like it when any comic - and this definitely includes Seth Meyers - looks into the camera looking and waiting for you the audience to 'get' his joke.

I don't know why anyone finds his humour funny...his sojourn on Saturday Night Live as head writer made Saturday Night Live sink to new lows - and then he's rewarded with his own show! MY guess is that many people turn this show on in order that they can fall asleep!

Im guessing Seth Meyers is trying to use his foray into politics to dig his way out of what he may see as a dead end job playing second banana to the Tonight show and Jimmy Fallon. That may garner him some short term attention but where does it go after the election. I don't think he has the wit or charisma to be a full time politico and what used to be youthful charm is fading night by night.

He seems to be stealing a page out of Lewis Blacks angry guy book but comes off more bitter and condescending then funny most times.

If Hillery gets elected maybe he can get a spot as court jester. Trump is a "Huge" easy target but it's going to get harder to stay relevant on this new road after the election is over. He may secretly hope Donald Trump gets elected because if he goes away it will leave a huge hole in Seths act.

I honestly don't get why this show is getting bad reviews. I have to assume they are reviewing the episodes that aired pre-COVID. I've been watching recently and I have to say it is a pretty funny show. Since March 2020, Seth has been doing the show without an audience. He has really been doing well. Despite being overused, A Closer Look is hilarious most of the time. I do have to warn that Seth does get more political than Jimmy Fallon, whose show airs directly before Seth's show on weeknights, but other than that, it is fine. In my opinion, Seth has been able to squeeze a lot more jokes into an episode now than he was able to when he paused for audience laughter every 6 seconds. I recommend giving the show a try when it comes back on August 9th. Or just watch a full episode now on NBC's website.

I had just woke up from sleeping and already I felt awful, I was so thirsty and my stomach felt weird and horrible seemingly like I was starving or something, so I went to kitchen to make me some egg tacos. While making my food this show came on and it made everything in my body feel worse like this guy was just so unfunny like it's not even funny how unfunny he is its just excruciating, his punchlines if you can even call them that were so lame like you wouldn't tell if he was making a joke or a statement and there was so many weird noises in that show and the guy just wouldn't stop talking like his voice was just so nasally and he would talk so fast and so loud like he sounded like he was on something, basically it made my stomach hurt more and gave me a headache which made me feel even more worse like it felt like the more and more I watch or listen to it the more and more my life expectancy depletes like I have never felt so miserable and sick simply by listening to a TV show and when I sat down and tried to find anything else that I could watch on my iPad, fortunately I did find something else to watch but unfortunately I think the damage was done as the part of the show I did watch/listened to took it all out of me like I couldn't even finish the food I ain't, shortly after that I hurried in my room and went back to bed. But that was my story, I seriously hope that I never come across this show again as I believe I now have ptsd from the pain I experienced while watching this show and I feel as if I ever watched this show again I might not make it out alive next time.

Nah but all joke aside this show is really unfunny and cringeworthy and I could go the rest of my life without seeing it again.
