If that drunk idiot can call himself Hercules, I can call myself Emma Watson. This movie is only fun if you hate films.

I really believe that even the actor's parents are ashamed of this garbage. I have no words for the acting, because yes, it is that bad.

Even the large, very large, amount of blood couldn't save it. It was ketchup and I swear I saw jam once or twice.

It can't come as a surprise that, besides the actors and special effects, the movie is historically incorrect. The clothes are ancient roman, not ancient Greek. With the amount of make-up used it's like they weren't even trying.

If you want to lose 2 hours of your life, I recommend this movie. If not: RUN. LIKE. HELL.

This movie qualifies as a B movie it is bad from start to finish, the plot is paper thin, the story is weak, the movie is called Hercules but why was he in this movie is the question it is more about the general and hes princess girl friend, the actors in the movie cant act at all, the battle scenes are just awful especially when Hercules makes this wrestling back flip onto a enemy soldier!!!, Herculus is supposed to be the son of Zeus yet he has trouble fighting the main bad guy even being beaten by him!!

why would anyone make a movie called Hercules and then not let the movie be about Hercules ,he is in the movie but hes story is a sideline story!, Hercules has the power of 20 men yet has trouble beating up a simple mortal, ye right!!! all in all glad i did not pay to see this movie because then i would demand my money back asap! its a low budget movie with low budget actors it should go directly to DVD and skip the cinema!

I love history and movies about ancient times and was eager to watch this movie. Unfortunately, the movie just didn't do it for me. Story is very narrow and almost pointless - there's pretty much no story or anything behind the possible story. You are pretty much watching a bunch of men fight for the whole movie with a little understanding why. Acting is probably some of the most horrible I've seen in years. Fight scenes look extremely fake. The "extras" used for background fights and for general movie roles probably were never in any movies as they look lost. I was laughing a few times while watching as I could not believe producers and directors let this go for production. Even swords look fake(plastic and dull)!

I feel like I wasted 1.5 hours of my time that I never get back. This isn't 300 or anywhere close to it.

The only reason I gave it 2 stars and not 1 because I liked the architecture,scene designs and wardrobes.

One of the worst movies i have ever watched, knowing Greek mythology this has nothing to do with anything Greek, after troy , 300 and Alexander the great this is the worst parody i ever watched, some people must go first to school and then to try to make a movie that contains mythology, is the least tragic! the names...the story.... the clothes....the place....nothing Greek! 1.Hercules was not an alcoholic as he is presented 2.the names in the movie are totally wrong 3.the city looks more like Jewish than Greek 4. Greece is not a desert like in the movie 5. the suits in the movie are from ancient rome not Greece 6. not even the weapons!!! really don't waste your time to see this, better watch the smurfs are more realistic than this monstrosity.

One of the worst movies ever made, with interest. Stop doing that, be true to yourself guys... or, maybe, these is who you are and in that case... I pity you again. And again to make the 10 lines that are a must for this review, but I feel I already spent too much time on your nothing...

This is one low budget film. the plot is so bad that my two children are laughing at every scene. Even when the movie tries to be serious, its become a laughable comedy due to the acting and plot. Just like watching WWF matches. Purely shouting matches and wrestling moves execution. How is it possible that the army of the king has so few soldiers that a bunch of 30 men could over throw them? Very unrealistic. Princess Theodore just wasn't helpful, most of the time crying and a spectator. Over all this is bad, bad, bad directing, execution, storyline.... Everything is bad. Waste of time. Christina Ulfsparre was a beautiful face and its a wasted talent for her to star in this movie.

I cannot find one thing good to say about the movie. The storyline, the plot and lines were all so weak! Even the fighting scenes appeared forced and over-the-top fake. These factors may have affected the acting but I very much doubt it. The lines were delivered as though they were reading right off the script - no emotions, no feelings, terrible acting.

And it saddens me to see Hercules was written as someone who suffered from alcoholism and drug-induced psychosis; he was not the main star of this movie (why call this movie Hercules is beyond me!) the plot was all about Arius.

The movie itself was rather confusing. I don't get why a prisoner caged up still wears shiny lip gloss with perfect brows? Or, for someone who was heavily injured and then passed out, he could suddenly get up and run like he was unhurt (and knew exactly where to go to continue his fight!!). Then there was also Hercules and that royal guard of Nikos', they have these dumb and stupid looks on their faces all the time - I simply cannot tell what emotions they were trying to convey.

I hope the other Hercules movie will be a better one than this - it surely can't be that hard to beat!

Characters are poorly created. Special Effect used here are WORST in it's kind. fighting scenes are awful. Low grade Actors and Acting. One of the worst movies ever made.

Giving the lead role in any film to a WWE wrestler is never normally a great idea, unless you're The Asylum, in which case it actually adds to the movie's credibility. In fairness, John Hennigan (or Morrison according to the DVD cover) makes a pretty good Hercules by micro-budget standards, certainly a lot better than Kellan Lutz (really!) did in one of the movies of which this is a rip-off. In fact, this is one of The Asylum's better efforts of late, and a very far cry from their nadir offerings such as 'Dragon Crusaders' and the truly abysmal 'Attila'. The studio's well-publicised maximum budget of $1m looks like it might have been stretched to the limit on this one - the sets, costumes etc. were certainly better than one has come to expect from this particular outfit, it's just a pity the same can't be said for the casting and acting, which for the most part was, well, a bit odd. On the plus side however, the camera work and editing was probably the best I have seen in an Asylum film.

A real curate's egg this one - Asylum fans like me will recognise and celebrate the good bits, while the usual 'worst film ever made' merchants will regurgitate the same old tired criticisms. I suggest you follow my advice - open a bottle, switch off your brain, and just enjoy watching a drunken Hercules body-slam half a dozen Greek soldiers. What could be more fun?

Compared to what The Asylum often churn out, Hercules Reborn is watchable. Of the movies they released in 2014, Hercules Reborn is the one that came across to me as the best-looking, the sets and scenery are beautiful and give off a very pleasant atmosphere(even if some of what should be Greece looks more like a desert, a nice-looking desert that said), the photography is also nice, the costumes are well-tailored and convincing- although Princess Theodora's hair does take you out of the period-, the action sequences do contain some excitement and tense and are done with enthusiasm(loved the WWE skills between John Hennigan and Marcus Shirock) and John Hennigan has charisma and handles the action scenes very well. The music is not that authentic but is rousing enough, and Marcus Shirock is fun and menacing in a way that Dylan Vox should have been. The bad news however is that Hercules Reborn in my opinion still was not a good movie. Hennigan is fine in the action sequences, but his dialogue delivery is another matter, it's very wooden and the constant burping and the like got tiresome very fast, outside of the action sequences Hercules disappointingly isn't all that heroic and comes across as somewhat of a "knucklehead". The other acting is not much better, James Duval is annoying and never looks at ease, Christine Ulfsparre is beautiful and sometimes spunky but often vapid and looks out of place within the setting and Dylan Vox is more hammy than threatening. The characters are not too interesting either, very stock good and evil characters with not much depth and development. The story(we'll forget for a second that mythology verges between vaguely realised and ignored) while not dull could have been less standard and predictable and have had more thrills and fun, while the script has a lot of talk but a lot of it sounds very forced and rough draft like(ie. "In time, I will skill you in ways to love me.") and somehow too contemporary-sounding. There have been far worse special effects from the Asylum, but the most convincing they ever get is the blood spurting, the rest have a crude and inconsistently proportioned look to them. And while the action is reasonably good, especially for an Asylum movie, there are not enough of them for such a heroic mythical figure, and a lot of the movie feels under-populated. Overall, Hercules Reborn is a quite mediocre movie but it did not come across as a terrible one either. 4/10 Bethany Cox

Please trust me - it's an utter waste of time! The ENTIRE "movie" ... if one is so generous to call it that, should be on the cutting room floor.

As another reviewer points out, 2014 is the year of Hercules. This is probably one of three or maybe even four. What is almost certain is that you're looking for one of the other ones.

Unfortunately I can't agree with the reviewer who gave this 7 stars. There's no merit in doing something badly. A guilty secret is still bad even if *you* are compelled to like it. You should know deep down it's tripe. Look outward and compare it to a great. Because by greatness (or indeed rubbish) is the 10 star rating defined. If this was a 7 then movies like Alien, Pulp Fiction etc would have to earn another star at least.

Bad acting. Bad script. Bad story. Bad costume. Bad movie. Avoid.

I'd want to self-abort if I had to be reborn into this world. This was one of the most pointless non-event films I have seen in quite a while. And I have seen some utter nonsense this year! Still - At least the chance to read the reviews made it worthwhile.

Why do people not like this movie? It is a great movie. It has a great story line and great acting. No it is not a 1. It is an 8. This is very good action movie. See it. It is a great movie. Why all the hate?

Far Surpassed expectations of the 4.2 IMDb rating!! "Hercules Reborn" is a swords and sandals action epic with twists & turns! The picture quality boasts extraordinary: clarity, details, and HD. John Hennigan had a dynamic screen presence and was believable as Hercules (unlike Kellan Lutz). Hennigan did great work with the Action sequences (his Pro Wrestling experience paid off vastly). Dylan Vox played a diabolical villain!!! Christina Wolfe was the damsel in distress, but she had some fight in her! Production found some truly Spectacular sets in Morocco. They made it work somehow (even on a shoestring budget!). I would rank this Hercules as being better than "The Scorpion King" sequels and the "In The Name of the King" sequels. Some people criticize and bash movies from Asylum, but "Hercules Reborn" was a fairly decent effort. "Hercules Reborn" was better than "The Legend of Hercules" (even though they both currently have a 4.2 IMDb rating). "The Legend of Hercules" had a 70 Million budget. "Hercules Reborn" is a remarkable achievement for Asylum considering its small micro budget. John Hennigan is a star on the rise!!
