Stromberg: Wieder alles wie immer

Diehard Stromberg fan here. Unfortunately, all previous fears were understated, couldn't have made it more politically correct if you wanted to. Two examples: Stromberg apologizes to a gay man about his potentially homophone remarks in the past. Shortly after, he apologizes to Ernie about having bullied him in the past. First time I exited the cinema early (like 15 minutes before the ending).

Money grab exploiting old fans with a reeducation mission.

Political correctness in a comedy is always a bad idea. This movie is an excellent example. To be honest this is one of the badest movies of the last years. Storyline disappointing without any tension. Old characters without their typical humor. German cinema is dead, Stromberg is dead. The TV show and the last movie was way better.

Overall a very fun movie, lots of new Stromberg quotes (bicycle helmet one was my favourite) and ofc a bit deeper as the series. Ernie is still annoying (as intended) but had quite some character development. Stromberg... not so much. At the end, plot feels a bit rushed. Got lots of laughs in the cinema.

Not funny, not surprising, just a cheap story with mediocre actors. Why build a pseudointelectual movie around one of the funniest person in TV Series-history. I was expecting the old Stromberg, nothing more and nothing less. The only highlight was Ernie, because he's just a great actor. I'm overall just disappointed.

It was painful to watch, to be honest. The story tries to be something that the character and the concept of Stromberg simply don't support - and shouldn't have to! Stromberg was good just the way he was! If you want to tell a story about a midlife crisis, growing old, or the pointlessness of life, then you should develop a suitable format for it. Why do you have to make a comedy so melodramatic and depressing? I am a big fan of all seasons and the first movie. But this is simply not good. It's a real shame..
