This is a final episode of the series of so-called Koike Lupin.
The gravestone for Daisuke Jigen
Goemon's Blood Spray
Fujiko Mine's Lie
Zenigata and the Two Lupins
The director wanted to reroute Lupin the Third to the original comic version. Lupin is too comical and kids-friendly in the famous anime movie like The Castle of Cagliostro. The Lupin and his fellows were reckless, swindle and savage when the original comic came out. I guess the first one with the Jigen vs One-eyed sniper is very close to the original in taste. But one after another, it got ridiculous.
In this anime movie, Bloodline of Immortality, it went too far. Lupin should be the one like Mission Impossible. Its plot is always the same, the mysterious teamwork to get the impossible things done. And we like it especially the humanity of hero in it.
This Immortal thing has no story to associate to Lupin, a broken plot in the first place. It looks and sounds like the battle against the monster. The story's midpoint explains Lupin's imperative, linking it to an early Lupin film. Even better without it. All the characters, such as Jigen, Goemon, Fujiko and Zenigata, are watered down and spoiled. It might be a low budget "Avenger" at the point of all the characters appeared in the series to make a battle royale. It doesn't have to be the Lupin anymore.
I could re-watch The Gravestone of Daisuke Jigen. At least the director cared about the time frames that the bullet gets to the target. Well, other explanations gave less sense to me, but okay as a fantasy and not a physics class. This one lost that sense, no more. When ever someone shots, it arrives in a second, despite the distance or altitude.
Overall, I would love to watch if the story goes back to the Lupin IIi: The First.
