Hilarious Christmas Comedy

The funny thing is: "Christmas in the Black (A Tuby Perri Joint)" really isn't about Christmas. It's more about a man's complex relationships with his family members. The protagonist, Clay-Shawn (played by Christopher Deon) has to share news with his family that he can't buy Christmas presents this year. From there, a major fallout ensues. Yet, he teams up with his grandfather Abuelo (Cliff Adams) to find a way to trick the system.

"Christmas in the Black" feels more like a satirical Year-in-Review project with elements of romantic comedies. It's like a Wayans Brothers project and a Joe Rogan podcast mixed in one.

You'll definitely laugh at some of the off-key humor and intriguing styles of character development. Newcomer Jo'Nisha Love delivers big laughs as "Pooh", while Karena Plepel keeps everyone on track as the antagonistic "Comma-La Chisholm".

Overall, it's a good way to spend your 30 minutes. It feels like a sitcom without a laugh track. Very HBO-ish.
