This fake fiancee movie didn't go the way you might expect from the beginning, although signs of things to come started showing up fairly early. I thought the story had some interesting turns.
I wasn't comfortable with many of the characters mostly because so many of the people who supposedly loved or at least liked each other also treated each other so rudely and often antagonistically.

There are lots of inconsistencies in the timeline, script & plot. The conflicts are boring, unprovoked & again, inconsistent. The family connections are confusing! I wish I weren't too stubborn to turn this off. 3/10 stars
My husband and I enjoyed this movie. It was very cute, I liked the characters and I personally really like the main actress. I've watched her in a couple other movies and I was happy to see she was in this one. I'm not sure why the other review is so negative, because this movie kept my attention and interest... And the main actress' clothes were not unflattering, they were pretty and modest. This movie was not as good as The Best Man Holiday in my humble opinion but it was entertaining. It's very Christmassy and it had a good plot and great ending. I don't like holiday movies with bad endings so I was happy to finish this one with a smile. I would recommend this to anyone who's in the mood for a good holiday flick... & it's Family appropriate.
This movie is a classic it's nice it's clean it's a family friendly movie it's in African-American movie and it's not drama field it's fun it's just a clean happy holiday movie I love all of them they are great it's great to watch it's nothing deep it's just nice surface base romance love and since Christmas fun
Marry Me for Christmas (2013) is a movie that I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows a young lady returning home for Christmas who doesn't want to give the impression she's so busy at work she can't find a man, even if true...so she brings a coworker home she's interested in and asks him to pretend to be her fiancé. He sees this as a great opportunity to win her over. Meanwhile at home her family sniffs things out, especially her childhood friend that may be a better fit to be her fiancé.
This movie is directed by Roger Melvin (He's Mine Not Yours) and stars Karon Riley (Ambitions), Malinda Williams (First Sunday), Jason Weaver (ATL), Chrystale Wilson (The Players Club), Deetta West (Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins) and Tamara Bass (Baby Boy).
I really enjoyed the family dynamic, mix of characters and chemistry between the cast. Some of the scenarios were over the top but still fun to watch unfold. The plot is predictable and straightforward, as is most of the comedic content, but fit the holiday genre perfectly. This is one of those plots that are more fun than good but has some zings and cracks that make you laugh out loud.
Overall, this is far from a holiday classic but is still a worthwhile addition to the holiday genre. I would score this a 6.6/10 and recommend seeing it once.
