The musical takes the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise and makes a new storyline, showing a unique take on the characters and their lore. It has its lighthearted humor mixed with intense scenes, leaving viewers wondering which amazing characters will survive.
The songs are amazing, providing the perfect emotions at all times. Songs like Blood and Tears and Dark Remains give a feeling of sadness and sympathy while songs like Shadows of Agony and Virus give a feeling of suspense as Glitchtrap sings in his amazing voice, vengeance blinding him. My personal favorite is Web of Lies, as it helps introduce the plot and characters, along with being catchy.
Another part of First Nights at Freddy's that I adore is the use of motifs. Throughout the musical, there are instrumental references to previous songs, including ones from the 2016 film. Night 1 appears the most often, but Night 3 is also frequent. Additionally, Web of Lies symbolizes when something is off. Speaking of things being off with Web of Lies, the song contains an instrumental reference to Night 2, specifically the line, "Something here seems foul", as something seems foul in Web of Lies. Aside from motifs from the 2016 musical, there are many other similarities, such as the humor.
First Nights at Freddy's contains a surplus of hilarious lines. Some of the funny quotes break intensity, such as Bonnie joking about how many people die at Freddy's in the beginning of the film. Bonnie's dark humor provides a sense of comfort to make sure the movie isn't overly intense. Other lines are funny, but add to the intensity.
I love it when villains have quotes that provide humor and suspense at the same time, so I enjoyed seeing in this musical. Examples include Glitchtrap's recurring haircut line, Phone Guy's rant about his robotic fox, and several lines toward the end of the film (that I won't say for the sake of spoilers). These lines are enjoyable and stick in people's minds.
Sometimes, a quote can stick without humor, such as when Circus Baby says, "No more crying. Only chaos." This quote shows that she is done with the torture she had to endure. She is beyond her breaking point, allowing for a villain the viewers can sympathize with. Additionally, Phone Guy's lines in Dark Remains make viewers scared of what he has planned.
All in all, First Nights at Freddy's is an amazing musical that people can enjoy, even if they don't know FNaF. Its lines stick in viewer's heads, its songs are catchy, and its use of motifs perfectly delivers the correct emotions. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves musicals, action, and suspense.
