- Struggling singer/songwriter Maggie is worried she's unable to compete with such a tech-savvy world. Upon returning home to help her parents on their farm, she meets Archer, "an entrepreneur who has come back to town to spend the holidays alone."—Hallmark
- Maggie McKenzie is a struggling singer/songwriter, her old fashioned way of doing things which arguably is partly leading to those struggles. When she is dropped by the band for who she was supposed to open in their pre-Christmas shows, they opting for a bigger name opening act to boost lagging ticket sales, Maggie's manager, Lewis, encourages her to go home, which is rural Vermont where her parents own and operate a Christmas tree farm, to regroup to write the next big song by embracing the latest technology. Her time off working at the farm takes a turn for the worse when one of its customers is Archer Donovan, the developer of one of those music assist apps that Lewis wants her to use. Archer is facing his own struggles in life. He and his sister Piper have a toxic relationship stemmed in the competition their father always pitted them in, with any of those competitions winner take all. Even with their father's recent passing, he is still dictating those competitions, and while Archer recognized that toxicity to go into therapy and to break ties with their father before his death, Piper may not be able to break out of that lifetime of hurt that their father has built into their relationships. Archer came to Vermont for the holidays in a remembrance of the one happy Christmas he had there when he was eight years old. The question then becomes if Maggie and Archer can bridge their divide to help each other achieve some happiness this Christmas season in dealing with their respective problems.—Huggo
