It's well directed, black and white was a good choice, and it's well organized. Reminiscent of slow burn character studies. The interspersed ptsd scenes in particular are really neat. Unfortunately it falls short in both writing and acting. The writing is too on the nose, it comes off as a bit juvenile (f words every 5 sec.). Where it loses the most stars is the acting. There are a few performances that were decent. The bartender and the younger sister are well acted. Though the main actors performance is quite rough. Some of the choices she made are a little cringe and the tics annd mannerisms are immersion breaking. She doesn't carry you through the movie as a lead should. There's an unconvincing emotionality that I would call robotic, stiff and wooden. She kind of acts like a little boy. You can't necessarily blame the film for coming off as amateurish as it's a debut, but the main actor has gone to school for it twice and still couldn't pull off a convincing performance.
