La huella del mal (2025) fails across virtually all its fundamental aspects: a weak story, a poorly constructed screenplay, and performances that fall short of expectations.
I usually find it difficult to give a film a low score, even when it is uneven, out of respect for the effort and work that goes into any production. However, in this case, the outcome is so flawed that it can hardly deserve more than a 4/10.

La huella del mal (The Coven Crimes) is a hauntingly atmospheric series that grips you from the very first frame. Set against the dark beauty of the Basque Country, it masterfully blends mystery, folklore, and psychological drama, unraveling a complex story that lingers long after the credits roll.
Blanca Suárez delivers a commanding performance as the tenacious yet emotionally conflicted investigator, proving once again why she's one of Spain's most magnetic screen talents. Alongside her, Daniel Grao shines with quiet intensity, bringing a layered vulnerability to his role that adds emotional depth to the narrative.
But one of the most intriguing turns in the film comes from Daniel Horvath in the role of Galder. Horvath brings a magnetic energy to the screen, his portrayal of Galder is both enigmatic and raw, capturing the inner turmoil of a man torn between secrets, guilt, and survival. He's not just a supporting character, he's a crucial key to the labyrinth of the plot. With his expressive eyes and restrained emotion, Horvath elevates every scene he's in, marking him as a breakout talent to watch.
La huella del mal is more than just a crime drama, it's a sophisticated exploration of human fear, tradition, and the unspoken traumas that shape communities. With its rich cinematography, haunting score, and standout performances.
Highly recommended.
