Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic

Secret of the mimic feels like the game Security Breach was always supposed to be. Similar dynamics and gameplay but it's just different.

I personally enjoy Security Breach very much even though it lacks in functionality. For some reason i just feel a deep rooted nostalgia for it.

Secret of the mimic has the functionality, it has the love and care. And for some people the old factory vibe might come across better than the 90s neon super mall. And without a doubt this game delivers on what it set out to do.

Good job SteelWool i hope you can keep up this pace for any games eventually made in the future.

About three days ago, I completed everything in the whole game, and that took about 19 hours to do. When I played the game for the first time, it took me a little over 6 and a half hours to get the first ending, and then it took me almost 2 and a half hours to get the second ending. Then, for the third ending, you have to replay the whole game while trying to get all the collectibles in the game. This time, it only took me about 4 and a half hours to replay the whole game. Then, I had to go through Moon to get the final collectible, which took a little over 25 minutes. I was able to get the third and final ending within 1 hour and 45 minutes, but that's also including the time I spent trying to complete the Moon. Exe game. After that, I had to replay the whole game for a third time to get the Platinum trophy on PlayStation. The three final trophies I need for the Platinum were Boop, Mail Call, and Good Listener. Obviously, the easiest one to get of the three was Boop. All I had to do was go to the ball toss game and hit the Clown's nose with the ball. The Mail Call was the second most difficult to get. For that one, I had to collect every text log in the game, and in the game, there's a total of 42 text logs. Then, finally, the hardest trophy to get was Good Listener, and for that one, I need to listen to every audio log in the game. There's a total of 22 audio logs. It might sound weird to hear me say that getting all the audio logs was the hardest since there's way less of them compared to the text logs, but the audio logs were definitely more difficult to reach. One of the audio logs was hidden somewhere in the White Tiger part of the game, which wasn't easy to reach. Once you did get to it, you have to go back through White Tiger again without dying since you have to reach the next save point for it to count. It took me about 3 hours and 20 minutes to replay the whole game for a third time and get the Platinum trophy. After replaying the game three times, I have to say, there wasn't a single moment where I got bored. The game is really fun, even if you were to replay it multiple times. It's easily the most replayable game in the franchise so far, and even after you beat it for the first time, there's still a lot more to do. The game is a big improvement over Security Breach. It's way less buggy, and it actually has scares unlike Security Breach. Overall, Secret of the Mimic might just be one of my favorite games of the franchise, for both its replay value and its high-quality gameplay!

For me, it took me only 9 hours to get two of the endings in this game. I had a lot of fun with the cat and mouse of hiding from the mimic, and the story of this game was enjoyable to follow.

For at least one or two of the puzzles I had to bring out a pencil and paper ^-^ As for the major lore reveals, they were definitely some interesting surprises and I'm sure I haven't found them all as there are still some collectibles that I've missed.

As for one minor criticism of the game, there were a few mild graphical issues. Levels sometimes took a couple of seconds to load on my PS5, and some windows appeared to be 2d images instead of actual 3d views into a second room.

FNAF: The Secret of the Mimic is everything a Five Nights at Freddy's fan could hope for - and more. This game manages to be both terrifying and deeply immersive, blending classic FNAF tension with a fresh and unpredictable storyline. The Mimic is one of the most unsettling animatronics we've seen yet, and the way it toys with your expectations is genius.

The environments are incredibly detailed, the audio design is nerve-wracking in the best way, and the lore? Absolutely mind-blowing. A new layer of mystery, and by the end, you're left speechless - and maybe a little paranoid.

I absolutely recommend this game.

Its perfect, the jumpscares, the chase scenes, the animations, everything. The only complaint i have is that some animatronics didnt have much screentime. Its also very short for a $40 game but the rest is going down in history. So if you just want a fun entertaining game with good jumpscares and great graphics? Then this is just for you! So go down to the factory and see what creepy amazing things this game has! Just make sure this is the game you wanna buy because its really short with 9 hours for the endings. That was everything, hopefully you enjoy this game as much as i did! Goodnight and always keep one eye open 😉
