The Groomsmen: First Look

The fact that this movie is actually part of a trilogy should have been made clear at the beginning of the movie. I watched this movie with my soulmate not sure if I actually liked where the story was going. Usually these types of movies end with a happy ending, and not on a cliff hanger!

If I had known in advance that this was the first of three movies maybe we could have arranged to watch them one after another, but I fear that by the time the second one comes along we will have forgotten what this one was about - and the fact that the movie kept dragging along as the story teller was narrating the story.

So yes, deeply disappointed and wishing I could get the time back that we wasted watching an okay sortof movie which left me feeling rather disappointed.

I am fairly certain I left a review for this movie, guess not. I have no idea why. All I can say is it's not a great movie. The groom is a nice enough guy, but there are challenges that he must face in order to get the girl. There are two other groomsmen, who are his best friends. They seem to be good buddies, he's the more serious of the three. There is the narration being done by a bridesmaid, who is providing all the details about these men and their escapades.

We don't know who she is, or why she is telling the story in an empty Irish pub to an Irish woman, who runs the bar. So, with some mysterious woman telling this story that doesn't make a whole lotta sense, and the fact that we don't know why she is in the movie at all, really kills the continuity factor. Let's hope it becomes clearer as time goes on in the next two installments. I knew right away there was gonna be three of these, and when I looked it up, sure enough.

Romance is lacking, acting is fine. The humor is flat. This film is a strikeout.

Hynes, Bennett and Britt have great chemistry in this movie. Tyler Hynes dry sense of humor is so funny. The location and cinematography are really nice. This movie may be about the budding long-distance romance between Pete and Chelsea but the true story is the bromance and 3-way friendship between these guys. They met in summer camp and have been friends ever since and probably will be for the rest of their lives. I really enjoyed this movie. It was charming, heartwarming and very funny. I saw Second Chances first not knowing it was a trilogy, loved it. I am going to watch The Last Dance next. I have no clue who would give this movie a one star or why? Maybe they didn't really watch it with their soulmate which the reviewer claimed. It's a unique Hallmark movie taken from a different point of view and it's great fun.
