Hype Meets Heavy Flashbacks

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle delivers another visually striking cinematic experience. The animation quality is stunning and the fight sequences are executed with high intensity, staying true to the franchise's reputation for breathtaking visuals.

However, the pacing suffers due to the extensive use of flashbacks, particularly in the portrayal of Akaza. While providing a layered backstory can deepen character development, the film invests heavily in humanizing him, presenting him more as a victim of circumstance than an unredeemable villain. For many viewers, this risks diluting the emotional weight of his role as the killer of the Flame Hashira. The prolonged focus on his tragic history and sympathetic death scene may leave audiences questioning whether the narrative blurs the line between antagonist and misunderstood figure too heavily.

Despite these issues, the film maintains its appeal and successfully extends the story toward the climactic confrontations with the Upper Moons. Still, viewers may walk away hoping for more balanced screen time dedicated to the battles and the broader cast of Demon Slayers, rather than prolonged detours into villain backstories.

Overall, Infinity Castle is a strong installment in the series, beautifully crafted, but its narrative choices may not satisfy every expectation for relentless action and momentum.

Amazing Visuals; the Plot Warms Up

The visuals are incredible and it was a great experience. My only complaint is that the flashbacks/backstory scenes, however necessary and entertaining, dominated the movie a bit too much. It would have been nice to see a few more duels from other Hashira given how amazing the fight scenes were. Can't wait for the next part and hope they continue with darker, less childish atmosphere.

A Stunning, Heart-Wrenching Masterpiece

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is everything I hoped for and more. From start to finish, it's an emotional rollercoaster that delivers breathtaking animation, incredible action sequences, and heart-piercing storytelling. Ufotable has once again raised the bar for what an anime movie can achieve.

The visuals are absolutely jaw-dropping. Every scene inside the Infinity Castle feels alive, with a haunting atmosphere and rich details that pull you into the chaos. The fight choreography is some of the best I've ever seen, perfectly balancing raw intensity with emotional depth. The sound design and soundtrack amplify every moment, making the battles and quieter scenes equally unforgettable.

What really hit me was the emotional weight of the story. Watching the characters push past their limits and make heartbreaking sacrifices left me speechless. You can feel the stakes in every moment, and by the end, I was both wrecked and inspired.

This isn't just a movie. It's an experience. A triumph for the Demon Slayer series and a landmark in anime cinema. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the series, Infinity Castle will stay with you long after the credits roll.

This movie is the definition of Peak continuously work

Everthing is perfectly well done, bringing the original material and elevating it to perfection. The storytelling was masterful, with every scene meticulously crafted to draw you deeper into the narrative. The performances were outstanding, bringing depth and authenticity to each character. Long 2 hours and 30 minutes that felt so quickly. The pacing, despite the runtime, was flawless never dragging, always engaging. Visually stunning and emotionally gripping, this film is a true masterpiece that stays with you long after the credits roll. An absolute must watch for anyone who loves demon slayer! It is a Must Watch!

Fantastic battle scenes, not so great pacing

With the source material in mind this had the potential to be an epic movie, and to some extent it was. The battle scenes were thrilling, beautifully made and certainly exceeded my expectations. At the start, I was completely immersed in the experience. But then slowly, I started noticing how the pacing in this movie was becoming a problem. Adrenaline filled battle scenes were cut in two parts or more to insert long backstories that almost put some of the audience to sleep. By the time the movie jumped back to present time, all the built up anticipation had died down. It simply did not work on the big screen.

Its also painfully obvious that they are breaking their backs to stretch out the story as long as possible. At the start of the movie we spent 20-30 something minutes following a conflict with one of the upper rank demons. That scene was left on a cliffhanger. For the entire duration of the movie I was wondering when they would get back to this this scene, but they never did. It feels like a poor decision to split this scene into two movies. The only reason I can imagine is they wanna raise the stakes and save much of the action to the sequel. Unfortunately, that leaves this movie lacking in many ways. Considering the movie is 2,5 hours long we should have made more progress in the storyline.

One of the best action movie

This arc serves as a culmination of years of character growth. Zenitsu, Tanjiro, Sinobu and especially Akaza get their defining moments. It's not just the main trio who shine - Infinity Castle gives deserved depth to previously underutilized characters, particularly Akaza.

Expect a return of hauntingly beautiful tracks by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina, with dynamic shifts to match each battle's intensity and tone. The blending of traditional Japanese instruments with modern orchestration will likely reach its peak in this arc. Sound design is immersive - every blade clash and demonic roar is designed to hit deep.

Beautifully Boring

Ufotable's Infinity Castle is stunning - honestly some of the best animation I've ever seen; every frame is a spectacle and it begs to be watched on a big screen. But the film drags: long, repetitive flashbacks and chopped-up fights make it feel episodic rather than a tight movie. There are real emotional moments, yet they're too often smothered by structure. Worth seeing for the visuals; don't go in expecting a clean, payoff-driven story.

An Incredible Movie that is emotionally very powerful. 10/10.

Visually Breathtaking & Masterfully Directed: The scale of Infinity Castle is awe-inspiring-less a "castle" and more a surreal megastructure shifting like a dream. Ufotable once again proves itself a powerhouse of animation, crafting scene transitions that feel like a cinematic video game. The IMAX experience heightens the immersion, making you feel like you've fallen into the castle itself.

Amazing Battle Sequences:

Right from the start, the action is relentless:

Shinobu vs Doma - graceful yet vicious

Zenitsu vs Kaigaku - emotionally explosive

Tanjiro & Giyu vs Akaza - pure cinematic brilliance

Every attack, every breathing form, is rendered with a weight and urgency rarely seen even in high-budget anime. Signature techniques like "Insect Breathing: Centipede Zigzag" and "Thunderclap and Flash" are brought to life with overwhelming force and beauty.

"These are easily the best fight scenes in the entire Demon Slayer anime so far." (Game Watch Japan)

Music: With songs by Aimer and LiSA, and a phenomenal score by Yuki Kajiura & Go Shiina, the soundtrack is emotionally and physically impactful. Whether it's sorrow, hope, or sheer fury, the music amplifies it tenfold.

It's not just background sound-it's part of the storytelling.

Heartbreaking Emotional Depth(SPOILERS): Akaza's flashback as Hakuji is a masterclass in emotional writing. His tragic backstory and lost love bring new weight to his character and reframe his earlier battles.

Zenitsu's moment of facing his corrupted brother-figure Kaigaku was another highlight-full of pain, rage, and silent heartbreak.

And Shinobu? Let's just say her battle is equal parts vengeance and poetry.

Perfect Pacing & Structure: At 155 minutes, you'd think it might drag-but not once does it slow down unnecessarily.

The rhythm between action, flashback, and quiet emotional scenes is finely tuned. The film clearly sets up a trilogy, but delivers a full arc on its own.

10/10 - A Cinematic Triumph With stunning animation, jaw-dropping fights, powerful music, and deeply human storytelling, Infinity Castle Chapter 1 is arguably Ufotable's best work yet.

It's not just a continuation of the story-it's an evolution.

From the moment it began, it was climax after climax. Ufotable raised the bar again.

Infinity Castle is so massive and complex, it's no longer just a 'castle'-it's a world.

Akaza's story closes beautifully. I couldn't hold back my tears.

An unforgettable experience. See it in IMAX if you can-you'll feel every breath, every blade, and every heartbreak.

Peak and peak

"Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" is nothing short of a visual and emotional masterpiece. From the very first frame, the film immerses the audience into a dark yet mesmerizing world, where stakes are higher than ever before. Ufotable once again proves why they are considered one of the best animation studios in the world, delivering some of the most fluid and beautifully choreographed action scenes ever put on screen.

Each character receives meaningful development, particularly Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, whose struggles and growth feel genuinely powerful. The tension between the Demon Slayer Corps and the Upper Moons is palpable, making every encounter intense and unforgettable. The soundtrack perfectly complements the visuals, heightening emotional moments and making action scenes feel even more epic.

What truly sets this film apart is its ability to balance explosive combat with deeply human moments. It explores themes of sacrifice, courage, and the thin line between vengeance and justice. Every detail, from the haunting castle design to the climactic battles, showcases an extraordinary level of care and creativity.

"Infinity Castle" isn't just a film for anime fans-it's a cinematic experience that transcends genre. It's a love letter to the story's fans and a benchmark for what modern anime cinema can achieve. A must-watch.

Absolutely Peakk

The movie is a visually stunning and emotionally charged film that marks the beginning of the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and Muzan Kibutsuji's demon army. With breathtaking animation and intense action sequences, this movie is a must-see for fans of the anime series.

The film picks up where the fourth season left off, with Tanjiro and his companions trapped inside Muzan's fortress, the Infinity Castle. The story unfolds with epic battles, emotional moments, and stunning animation that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The pacing is well-balanced, with moments of high tension and excitement that culminate in an intense and satisfying climax.

The character development in the film is noteworthy, particularly in regards to Tanjiro's growth and perseverance. His determination to protect his sister and avenge his family is admirable, and his interactions with other characters add depth to the story. The film's themes of family bonds, perseverance, and the struggle between good and evil are well-explored, adding depth and complexity to the narrative.

The animation is top-notch, with beautifully designed characters and environments that transport viewers to the world of Taisho-era Japan. The soundtrack is equally impressive, with a powerful theme song that sets the tone for the film. The sound effects and score heighten emotional moments, making viewers feel every triumph and loss.

Overall, the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie is a thrilling and emotional ride that sets the stage for the final battle between good and evil. With stunning animation, intense action sequences, and emotional storytelling, this film is a must-see for fans of the anime series. If you're looking for a cinematic experience that's both thrilling and emotionally touching, look no further than Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.

Perfection

The storytelling and animation are perfect! Every frame is a visual feast, blending breathtaking action sequences with emotional depth that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The fight choreography is next-level-fluid, dynamic, and packed with intensity. The Infinity Castle itself is a stunning setting, with its ever-shifting, dreamlike architecture adding to the film's surreal and epic atmosphere.

Ufotable's signature blend of CGI and traditional animation creates a seamless, immersive experience.

This isn't just a movie; it's an emotional rollercoaster that leaves you breathless. An absolute must-watch-I'll be seeing it again as soon as possible!

It might have surpassed the manga!

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Jo is one of the most visually stunning and emotionally-charged movies of all time.

The animation is next- level and the emotional moments hit hard. I saw it in IMAX and it definitely made a difference!

Ufotable added extra content that helps the story, with extra fight scenes and a whole ton of flashbacks.

The voice acting was amazing, some of the best ever in anime, the stand-outs were definitely Natsuki Hanae, Akira Ishida, Saori Hayami, Mamoru Miyano and Hiro Shimono who each brought out their respective characters in the most spectacular way possible.

There's not much to say for the storyline as this arc is just a number of fights that lead up to the main event, Muzan, so don't expect much from the plot.

The action is crazy and the animation next level, Ufotable really did great!

This movie was everything I expected and more, a must see in IMAX, and a fantastic start to the Infinity Castle trilogy.

Too much of a good thing

Animation was mostly wonderful, as is obvious.

Characters are really excellent, and almost all characters have heartfelt arcs and backstories. The issue is it's almost EVERY character, and when every character has this traumatic death filled heartbreaking backstory, it feels bland and forced. Not to mention the pacing is awful due to an ungodly amount of flashbacks which are so unnecessary and remove you from the flow of the fights. Overall this movie left me feeling somewhat good, but in moments very bored and tired of the same sad backstories for forced empathy, resulting in disappointment.

Calling Infinity Castle 'unwatchable' is crazy 💀 The animation? Peak. The emotion and sacrifices? Heartbreaking and powerful. The fights? Literal perfection. If that's a 1/10 to you, maybe anime just isn't your thing 🤷‍♀️🔥 Not everything needs to be edgy to be great. Akaza, and that final showdown had me sobbing and cheering at the same time. A 10/10 experience for real fans!it is like calling mount Everest the smallest hill.

Highs and Lows

I really enjoyed season 1, Mugen Train, and the Entertainment District arc. Those were all incredible. I had a really tough time with this movie. It has so many highs in the action, but I found it sinking way too deeply into its own formula. Demon Slayer has always done the same, "the second a demon is about to die, lets give their entire backstory" thing, and its abused here. The story seems more content on having things happen in the past than actually happen in the present. I want development of characters but every time something happens whether it be Shinobu, Akaza, Zenitsu's friend, or Tanjiro, everyone keeps having flashbacks to "x sad moment" or "x person who died," every single time. It just got to the point where I was rolling my eyes. Akaza's backstory has heart, of course, he's my favorite demon. But in the end I was just annoyed at it because it was right before he'd die anyways, so who cares? That's the problem, every flashback is always about a character that will be dead and have no importance later on. Its just repetitive and annoying, shallow story writing that can't make actual moments hit. Rengoku's story worked because we had time to see him in the present and interact with the cast, here it feels like every hashira is just getting tons of new story jammed in, along with the demons for the sake of having some fleeting emotional connection to them.

Peak Visual and overflowing emotions

I was completely captivated by Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. From the very first scene, it felt like stepping into a world that was darker, grander, and more intense than anything before. The animation was on another level-every frame felt alive, like a moving painting drenched in emotion and energy. The music hit all the right notes, pulling me deeper into every moment, and the atmosphere of the castle itself was haunting and unforgettable. There was this overwhelming sense of urgency, beauty, and chaos all at once. Even without spoiling anything, I can say this: it's the kind of arc that reminds you why you fell in love with anime in the first place.

It could have been 15/10 and not 8/10, there are many pacing issues, especially the fight with Akaza.

Let me be clear, I'm a huge anime fan and a staunch defender of KNY when it's been criticized that only the animation carries the story.

There are works that reach a point where they are so massive and important that they inevitably lead to many haters.

KNY is pure history, and UFOTABLE has exploited it extremely intelligently. "Mugen Train," besides being the studio's salvation, was the moment we all knew this franchise was serious business.

But nothing suggested the insanity of its end: 3 FILMS TO GO? Insane, an exaggeration. However, UFOTABLE once again earned $300 million in Japan alone, and now its worldwide premiere is to packed theaters.

Is everything perfect about this film? Well, no, and that's why I consider myself indebted. It should have been a 15/10, but it ends up being an 8/10. Let me explain.

This arc is meant to be seen as the series itself, not as a movie, so it's pretty obvious that we'll feel like there's something incomplete. So far, so good, we all know that.

What bothered me most about the movie is the pacing. We have very frenetic moments, like the beginning and the first two battles. But at the climax of the fight with Akaza, we have a 20-25 minute flashback! While it's faithful to the manga, it's inconceivable that they didn't realize how it affects the story's dynamic. I saw people yawning in the theater the whole time. In a 2 hour and 30 minute movie, I think it's a mistake.

Otherwise, it doesn't fail us in animation, nor in epicness. I think the Shinobu and Zenitsu fights are incredible. But here's another criticism: you don't feel the tension in either fight because we didn't have an elaborate build-up to these bonds over the seasons. It's very different from the dynamic with Akaza, whom we've hated since Rengoku's death.

It's clearly a success; I'm definitely going to see the other two films. I just sincerely hope I can walk out of the theater and say I saw the best movie of my life. That didn't happen with "Infinity Castle"...too bad.

Amazing

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle is a breathtaking continuation of the Demon Slayer saga, masterfully combining heart-pounding action, emotionally charged storytelling, and stunning animation. As someone who has followed this series from the beginning, I can confidently say that Infinity Castle stands as a crowning achievement-not just for the franchise, but for anime cinema as a whole.

The movie picks up after the events of the Swordsmith Village Arc, throwing viewers into the long-anticipated confrontation between the Demon Slayer Corps and Muzan Kibutsuji, the progenitor of demons. The Infinity Castle itself, a surreal and constantly shifting domain that defies the laws of physics, sets the perfect stage for this epic final battle. The sheer scale and complexity of the castle heighten the tension, emphasizing that this is no ordinary fight-it's the beginning of the end.

What immediately stood out to me was the animation. Ufotable continues to raise the bar with their unparalleled visual storytelling. The transitions, battle choreography, and use of dynamic camera movements are nothing short of cinematic brilliance. Every clash of swords, every explosion of blood, and every burst of Breathing Technique is rendered with immaculate detail. It's not just animation-it's artistry.

But Infinity Castle isn't just an action spectacle. At its core, it's a story about resolve, sacrifice, and the enduring strength of the human spirit. We see many characters pushed to their absolute limits-physically, emotionally, and morally. One of the most powerful moments for me was seeing the backstories of the Upper Moon demons. The film dared to humanize its villains without excusing their cruelty. Their painful pasts added layers of complexity, making each confrontation feel heavier and more tragic.

Among the demon slayers, each Hashira shines in their own way. Giyu's stoicism, Sanemi's fury, and Mitsuri's passion are beautifully portrayed. But perhaps the most heart-wrenching performance comes from Obanai Iguro, whose quiet strength and devotion leave a lasting impact. The camaraderie among the Hashira and their resolve to protect humanity at all costs brings emotional weight to every fight. As a viewer, I felt genuinely concerned for their lives-no one felt safe, and that's what made it so gripping.

Of course, Tanjiro Kamado continues to grow as a protagonist. His unwavering compassion, even toward his enemies, is a recurring theme that echoes throughout the film. His relationship with Nezuko, who plays a vital role in the emotional core of the story, reminds us what the characters are fighting for. Tanjiro doesn't just want to defeat Muzan-he wants to protect the possibility of a peaceful life, something every viewer can resonate with.

The soundtrack deserves a special mention. Go Shiina and Yuki Kajiura's compositions elevate every scene, from hauntingly quiet moments to thunderous battles. The use of traditional Japanese instruments alongside modern orchestral arrangements creates a rich and immersive soundscape that lingers even after the credits roll.

If there is one critique I might offer, it's that with so many characters and subplots, some moments felt slightly rushed. However, this is a minor issue in an otherwise excellently paced film. The emotional beats are still effective, and the action never overshadows the story.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is not just a movie-it's a monumental event in anime history. It rewards longtime fans with incredible payoffs while delivering enough drama and spectacle to impress even casual viewers. It's a love letter to the characters we've followed for years and a reminder of the power of storytelling when heart and technique come together.

In conclusion, I was deeply moved by this film. It thrilled me, broke my heart, and inspired me all at once. Whether you're a fan of action, drama, or beautiful animation, this film offers something unforgettable. I highly recommend Infinity Castle to anyone who appreciates a story where hope burns bright, even in the darkest of places.

Supper...

A breathtaking climax: The Infinity Castle Arc delivers!

The long-awaited Infinity Castle Arc of Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) is everything fans hoped for - and more. Ufotable once again proves why it is at the very top of the anime industry, with jaw-dropping animation, immaculate fight choreography, and emotional storytelling that hits hard.

From the moment Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps are pulled into Muzan's sinister and labyrinthine castle, the tone becomes darker and more intense. Every frame of the Infinity Castle feels alive - the shifting walls, eerie colors, and endless depth of the setting create a truly nightmarish atmosphere befitting the final showdown.

The battles themselves are nothing short of spectacular. The Hashira each get their chance to shine, and their individual fights against the Upper Moons are some of the most emotional and visually stunning sequences of the series. Without spoiling too much, the stakes feel higher than ever, and the story doesn't shy away from the harsh reality of war - with bittersweet victories, sacrifices, and powerful moments of growth for our heroes.

The music is another highlight. Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina's haunting, epic soundtrack elevates each scene, blending perfectly with the fluid and dynamic animation.

Most impressively, the Infinity Castle Arc stays true to what Demon Slayer has always been about: humanity, compassion, and perseverance in the face of despair. It's not just a battle of strength, but also of hearts and ideals.
