I watched this movie with low expectation and this movie was beyond my expectation. This movie has a good story and that combined with excellent acting makes this a good film to watch. There are a few moments where the movie feels a bit slow, but it's understandable given the low budget and the fact that it's directed by a new director.
We are seeing lots of good crime thrillers from Kollywood in the past few years but there is a lack of good road movies and it will be great to see a road movie with a good story. This was a good attempt from the director.
Try to give it a watch, kudos to all the hardwork.

As an Individual, who spent my time enjoying Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai, I can honestly say it brought out the best of happiness. Now, shifting gears as a reviewer, let's dive into it.
The main cast, led by Nalinamoorthy (Karunas) and Kumar (Vimal), along with the supporting actors, truly lived up to their roles, making the most of their screen time.
Let's start with Karunas. His performance in this film will make you forget his previous roles and even his current image as a real-life politician. Honestly, it's like watching a completely new actor! In fact, this role should be considered his true debut, not Nandha. From the toll gate scene to that shocking moment where he meets his end by opening the car door-it's sheer brilliance. What a transformation!
Next up is Vimal. While his Chennai slang felt a little forced at times, his expressions and screen presence carried the film. He leads the story, giving life to the character of Kumar, though there's still room for a bit more fine-tuning in portraying this role. Nonetheless, he's on his way to solidifying himself as a noteworthy actor.
Finally, we must give a round of applause to Director Micheal K. Raja. Bringing a unique script to life, where a corpse becomes the center of an engaging story between families and the main characters, is no easy feat. Yet, he did it effortlessly, holding the audience's attention for over two and a half hours. The creativity and execution were nothing short of a wow moment!
Final Thoughts: While reviews, including mine, can provide insights, I always urge audiences to watch a movie for themselves. Everyone has their own taste in entertainment, and what one person loves, another might not. For me, Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai was definitely worth my time. If you're seeking pure entertainment, go ahead and give it a watch!

Actually I was not even going for this movie, entering theatre hall to this movie was by mistake, later i realised that it's not mistake. Right from start this movie was a low budget and my expectations was not so high ... The characters are limited sometimes little lag yet movie pulls you in and makes you get intrested. Though budget is low it still feels right in way like logics .karunas ,vimal played really important roles in their careers. Once the movie gets over you are not the exact person as you came in to theatre. The big plus in the film like this ,it manages to keep audiences engaged for a drama centred movie . I highly recommend to go for it.
What a great screenplay....humans are bonded with emotions and this movie captures it really well, especially where the karnan part syncs with karunas...wow.... goosebumps...movie lovers please don't miss this epic....the subtle performance from the lead actors plays a big role to convey the message....greater than many over hyped Tamil movies...music. Cinematography and the movie duration all combined make it a must watch one...the last 20 minutes tells us what life is... beautifully narrated...I would say best Tamil movie of this year 2024....didn't knew that two hours has passed...must watch must watch.
Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai is a simple yet profoundly emotional movie that tugs at your heartstrings despite its predictability. While the themes might feel familiar, the execution elevates the film into a deeply impactful experience. The story resonates with everyday realities in Tamil Nadu, highlighting the struggles and social pressures surrounding caste, religion, and honor.
Karunas delivers an outstanding performance, embodying the resilience and humanity of the protagonist in a way that feels both genuine and poignant. Vimal, too, shines with his portrayal of a man caught in helpless circumstances. His ability to display the subtle balance of his struggles-grappling with his inability to change the system yet finding joy and fulfillment in small acts of kindness and humanity-is commendable. His performance adds depth to the narrative, making his character relatable and memorable.
The film does a brilliant job of portraying the everyday challenges faced by families living below the poverty line, yet determined to find joy in the simplest of life's pleasures. The incidents depicted are relatable, echoing the harsh realities of societal norms and the lengths people go to preserve their so-called honor.
The director deserves applause for their craftsmanship. The screenplay blends storytelling and dialogue seamlessly, using flashbacks sparingly and effectively. Every scene, every conversation, and every moment feels necessary, building toward a satisfying conclusion that provides closure for all characters involved.
In summary, Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai is a well-executed, emotionally touching film that sheds light on the complex realities of human life. A highly recommended watch for those who appreciate heartfelt storytelling, authentic performances, and a glimpse into the emotional intricacies of everyday struggles.
