"Adolescence" (4/10) = Regret 🌠🌠🌠🌠
After 5 mins. this movie starts with a haphazard age progression of a young kid who turns into a powder face senior in high school he looks nothing like played by Mickey River. Him and his best friend played by ex rapper lil Romeo are the bizarre odd couple who bumble there way around town seeking fun through loitering stores, getting high and partys subsequently meeting his love interest played by India Eisley.
This film does have a realistic message and the storyline reveals that through out but the movie is just boring a few times it starts to look as though it will pick up and after 5 mins of an interesting scenario the tires get gashed and it's flat again. Bad pacing with an hour of wasted time at the beginning could've atleast made this film worth watching or remembering, But nothing happens dramatic enough to make it a memorable movie. Even though the end is understandable and somewhat practical in todays world we live in it doesn't progress towards that enough and abruptly ends. On the brightside I was delighted when the screen went black and the credits were flashed because I was happy it was finally over.

India Eisley has been known mainly for playing psycho nymphs in horror films and in some dramas, usually with the end result not so satisfying to her characters.
Although directed by a woman, it's not reflective of the #MeToo movement. I feel there's too much time given to showing the mean as strong and overcoming their weaknesses yet leaving the women to struggle with theirs.
Released too late after I Am the Night, which would have saved this film. Adam comes off as a modern Scott Pilgrim and acts alot like Micheal Cera. I'm uncertain if all of the events happen in one weekend; I feel there was a lot cut.
Very thin story. India fans will notice her typical fare in this one - chap-lipped, anorexic sickly pale gloomy and awkward girl with the occasinal nip slips but in an artsy fashion, playing a teen girl despite being an adult herself.
The message is OK because it feels unfinished. I feel you can honestly finish India's character, Alice's story by watching her Lifetime film, "Nanny Cam."
I'm sorry I waited a year for this to be released and only to VOD/streaming for that matter.
Three stars because it tried to deliver a somewhat positive message while also leaving a somber one.
A couple F-bombs, a few very small sex scenes, and few nip-slips, in artsy fashion.

Well, it's honestly not that bad though!
The story is meh, but acceptable and the acting is not really bad..
But If you're looking for something REALLY amazing and perfect to watch don't watch this movie
This was an amazing movie. Just as a fair warning though, it is a little sad. It's not the element of death and tragedies that makes it so, but just seeing these two people struggling to sustain their self-destructive lifestyle. As the description suggests, she really does take the lovable Adam down a dark path. It changes him immensely and causes him to push people away.
It's really a realistic story because especially being around 17, many people would be very impressionable to the ways of somebody they are very attracted to. Once that attraction evolves into love, then one could easily find themselves at the mercy of the way their lover was choosing to live, for better or worse, doing anything to make that lover happy even if it destroys the very nature of who they are in the process. Alice, played by India Eisley who I was unfamiliar with until this movie, is a very attractive girl. She is sweet in her own way, rough around the edges, and beautiful. It made me put myself in Adam's shoes and wonder how far I would go to give my heart to someone like that.
It's a very realistic, powerful, and gripping film. I'm nailing this with a full 10 stars.
