Crash

The crash series tells the story of a traffic crime team which is humiliated and is not considered a competent team because it does not want to be humiliated. The team then tries hard to prove its ability to handle crime cases that occur on the streets. The thriller genre with a little comedy in it makes this series quite interesting and not boring.

Known as a mathematician with a beautiful appearance but who is not good at driving a car and has difficulty socializing, the presence of Cha Yeon Ho changes everything. With his extraordinary cognitive abilities, Yeon Ho can simulate the cause of an accident just through a series of facts that he gets from the information he obtains from the place and that he collects to solve an existing case. He is able to simulate the time of the accident with sharp analysis.

The story revolves around traffic accidents and incidents in Korea and the eclectic team that have come together to investigate them. The TCI (Traffic Crime Investigation Team) have to deal with some strange incidents with varying stories but has an incident involving one of the team and a tragic accident from the past involving corrupt police officials runs through it. From the initial opening I thought it was going to be lighthearted but it is not and has dark stories and plenty of spectacular accidents. Well acted all round but the plot has some flat spots but is overall entertaining. I have given 8 stars but if I could it would have been 7.5 stars if I could.

Besides specific to traffic related cases, police collusion and corruption, there's also lots of car flip, stunts and .... obviously crashes.

Theres a large cast, a key back story related to a past event/crime/accident. Some of the characters and story are a bit over the top. After one of the episodes , an Easter egg scene explains what is a 'black car' and why they are used. That was kinda interesting.

To me, the leading role actors are not that famous.(or just good acting and characterization ) And that is good in not setting a predetermined stereotyping into the audience mind.

10 episode in, however, there is also history of female lead with an ex lover that I don't understand where is that going. The length is odd also as the last case seems completely separate.

Finally, the comedy is kind of unexpectedly comes from the station chief and his assistant.

Impressive first episode.

I only did it a try, because at least for me, Heong Seong Tae is really one of the best leading actors in Korea. His range of acting is impressive. From dark side character to kind of low profile one, he always brings it on !

I had not very high expection on this TV show (apart for HST), but if the following episodes on par with this very first one, it will be an excellent one. The scenario is smart and all characters play very well their parts...

This said, I entirely agree with rararmutt's comment !

For the moment, my rating : 8,5 - 9 Edit : after the last episode, 9 + !
