I've always had a sort of love hate relationship with glitch productions. Like, they are undeniably doing great things for the industry. It is very hopeful to watch them grow more and more into a legitimate studio in an era where the entertainment industry is plagued by big budgets and no passion. However, their actual shows have always failed to impress me. I haven't known how to say this, but most of their shows just make me feel nothing at all.
The Gaslight District changed that. Even from my first impression it may very well be their greatest looking show. Everything is so stylized. Every design is so creative. This is the sort of thing we're supposed to be doing with what he have. The writing is also such a jump up from anything else by glitch. "Twisted heaven and hell" is comically overdone at this point in indie spaces, but the way it's executed here remains unique and engaging. The jokes are also actually funny. I know humor is one of the most subjective things to a show, but it took glitch so long to find someone who could write jokes.
If I were to even criticize it. It might get overly stylized sometimes. Some shots are just visibly hard to read. It threw me off a few times. Still, that doesn't really detract from how creative this pilot is alone. I admire how it really throws you into the world with just a bare minimum understanding. Out all of Glitch's shows, this is probably the one I'm most excited to see continue.

The Gaslight District is a unique and visually striking animated series, full of constant action and tension. Each episode is dynamic and event-packed, keeping the viewer engaged, though sometimes there's little room to catch a breath between intense moments.
It's clear that the creators have a genuine love for animation and action storytelling - the series feels authentic and energetic. Compared to other animated series like Arcane or Castlevania, The Gaslight District stands out for its pace and intensity of action while maintaining a complex world and interesting characters.
Overall, it's a highly engaging series for fans of action and quality animation, even if it can feel a bit too fast-paced at times.
Original, energetic, and visually impressive, with a slight overload of action.

Glitch Productions has truly outdone themselves with the gaslight district. The animation is potentially the best looking out of any indie animated show out there, the writing is well done and the jokes are funny, the pacing, while is a bit fast, is fine on my part. Unlike the other glitch shows, which feel like an "episode one" to the series, this truly feels like a pilot. I was really skeptical when I first saw the teasers, but now that it's fully out, I feel as if this is the best glitch show yet. Allanah Fitzgerald is amazing as Mel, and everyone else is spectacular too. I cannot wait for a full series of this.

Glitch Productions (The amazing digital circus and Murder Drones) Made another Indie Series called the gaslight district. And let me tell you, the moment the pilot finished, I fell in loved with it, this was an Enjoyable pilot. From The Animation to the Writing to the characters, this was peak Cinema. And if I have to be honest, Ts looks like it was made in a big budget studio and I like that it has that Choppy Spider verse feel. Also Loved Ken the butcher and Mud, If your a fan of Indie animation or just YouTube shows in gems, your gonna love this pilot. Because they cooked 🔥
10/10: Absolute Cinema.
Edit: it got greenlit for a full season, let's go!!?

The animation is simply masterful. This stop-motion style fits the atmosphere of the series perfectly. The character designs are creative and fit into the world of the series. The story starts well, despite its speed, there was no unnecessary action in the episode. The concept is extremely interesting, there is nothing to complain about. So what's the problem? Ah, yes: the gore is too much. Of course, I understand that the studio had to somehow counter the prejudices caused by TADC, but the last 2 parts of MD were perfect for this purpose. It is true that the unrealistic form of violence fits the style of the series, but in my opinion, there should not have been so much blood splatter in every second or third scene. I fully accept that it is necessary to somehow communicate what age group the series is intended for, but there are better ways to do this than to shock the viewer with a few head-splitting blows. Overall, Gaslight District promises to be one of the best indie animated series of the year, but for the reasons mentioned above, I can't give it a maximum score.
