Batman has been fighting crime for over 85 years. Whether it be in the pages of the comics, on the big screen, or on one of his many beloved TV shows, The Dark Knight knows how to protect Gotham. He also knows how to accessorize with a fancy utility belt full of gadgets. Now, with the Dcu kicking off, Batman has a new collection that'll make fans have devilish Joker grins.

Superman is set to feature multiple superheroes beyond the titular Man of Steel. Batman, however, will not be one of them.
After a fan asked Superman writer-director James Gunn, who is also co-ceo of DC Studios, on Threads, if the plan was still for Batman's live-action DC Universe debut to be in his solo movie, The Brave and the Bold, the filmmaker simply responded, "Yes." This means that Batman will also not make a cameo in Supergirl or Clayface, the latter of which is centered around one of the hero's more recognizable rogues, who will be portrayed by Doctor Who guest star Tom Rhys Harries.

The following contains spoilers for Captain America: Brave New World, now playing in theaters.
In the pantheon of comic book movies and superhero TV shows, a major criticism fans have had is that the stakes often don't feel high. There aren't too many deaths, and although this has changed over time, some fans still take issue over fake-outs, as seen with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury. There are also many resurrections (per Avengers: Endgame undoing the Snap), which leads to many discussions about consequences.
In a movie like Julius Onah's Captain America: Brave New World, it was expected that there would be more casualties. The trailers had the energy of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, teasing a political thriller filled with fights. When it comes to the body count,...

Morena Baccarin is a significant actress in science fiction and comic adaptations in both movies and TV shows. In recent years, she's distinguished herself in the Deadpool films as Vanessa, demonstrating both the comedic and dramatic sides of her performances. Deadpool has many tongue-in-cheek moments but is anchored by the emotional core of the relationship between Vanessa and Wade (Ryan Reynolds), which Baccarin is well suited to portraying. However, it's Baccarin's television roles that have garnered her the most recognition and highlighted what a skilled performer she is, adapting to whatever a role calls for.
One of Baccarin's most prominent early roles was her turn in Firefly, a great TV show with only one season, but that's far from the only notable work of her career. However, it's because of her roles in cult-favorite projects like Firefly that fans have kept up with the actress' work throughout her different projects.

Morena Baccarin has had a remarkable history of portraying characters in DC projects, proving time and again that she fits seamlessly into the superhero genre, and would be ideal for James Hunn’s Dcu reboot. With seven distinct DC roles already under her belt, Morena Baccarin has demonstrated an impressive ability to bring depth, charm, and versatility to each character. These performances suggest she’s an ideal candidate for a prominent role in James Gunn's reimagined Dcu.
The Dcu timeline has long been a playground for Hollywood’s most talented actors, often casting seasoned performers to bring beloved comic book characters to life. As the franchise moves into a new era under James Gunn and Peter Safran, casting decisions will be crucial in shaping its tone and success. Warning: Spoilers for some of Batman: Caped Crusader's key villains to follow
Batman: Caped Crusader is a spiritual successor to Batman: The Animated Series with a film noir atmosphere. Screen Rant interviewed composer Frederik Wiedmann, who made music inspired by 1940s noir films for the show and gave each villain a unique theme. The series explores the psychological depths of Gotham City and could potentially lead to a lasting DC continuity.

Kumail Nanjiani may not be the only Eternals star heading to the DC Universe. Brian Tyree Henry recently expressed interest in portraying multiple Batman villains for the forthcoming shared universe.
During an interview with Collider to promote his voice role as Megatron in Transformers One, Henry was asked if there were any other iconic villains he'd want to take a crack at playing. "Man, look Two-Face? If we go through the Batman franchise of villains, there are so many great ones," he said. "I love Clayface, I really, really loved the Riddler, the Penguin, which Colin Farrell is about to crush. I really just love villains. I actually think we should change their names I don't think villain is enough. You know, 'emotional saboteurs,' 'complicated assassins.' I think 'villains' is so one-dimensional. And that's the thing I love about villains there are so many dimensions. They couldn't be captured in just one dimension.

For the longest time, Deathstroke was a rather obscure DC character. But, thanks in large part to Arrow, the world’s deadliest mercenary permeated the mainstream, with appearances in video games such as Batman: Arkham Origins and animated films like Son of Batman also doing wonders to help his cause.
Much to our delight, Slade Wilson’s future is looking brighter than ever now, as the character recently appeared in a post-credits scene for Justice League, in addition to Warner Bros. kicking around the idea for a solo film. That’s all hugely exciting, especially because Joe Manganiello is absolutely perfect in the role and it seems that he has a bright future in the DC Extended Universe.
There’s the standalone outing we just mentioned, which is being helmed by director Gareth Evans and is looking to Gods of War, Tony S. Daniel and Sandu Florea’s comic series...

Despite having most of 2017’s San Diego Comic-Con ahead of us, DC certainly hasn’t wasted any time making big announcements. In fact, two were made just yesterday when one of the most imaginative writers around, Grant Morrison, crashed the “Meet the Publishers” panel and announced sequels to some of his most well-known works, those being Arkham Asylum 2 and Wonder Woman: Earth One Volume Two.
First, let’s talk about his next Wonder Woman tale that’s following up on its 2016 predecessor since it’s fresher in everyone’s minds. According to the superstar scribe, this’ll be “the story’s Empire Strikes Back,” which makes sense since the first volume focused largely on Diana’s origin, and that we’re to expect Amazons vs. Nazis.

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is the second film featuring these heroes from Warner Animation and DC. It is a marked improvement over the disappointing Teen Titans Vs. Justice League. Based on a four part, 1984 comic series, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract introduces a new Titan, Tara Markov (Christina Ricci) aka Terra, a young woman with the ability to control earth and stone. Directed by Sam Liu and written by Ernie Altbacker, the film slickly integrates adult themes into its entertaining plotline. The Judas Contract is action packed and moves at a fast pace. The Teen Titans are certainly on better footing here.
The film opens with Terra's one year anniversary with the team. She's never fit in, despite everyone's efforts and fawning attention from Beast Boy (Brandon Soo Hoo). The Titans are hot on the trail of a religious despot, Brother Blood (Gregg Henry); and his legion of followers,...

With the voice cast having been revealed several weeks ago and the Blu-ray release of Justice League Dark now behind us (be sure to check out our review), it comes as no surprise that Warner Home Video wasted little time in releasing a trailer for the next DC animated film, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract.
Paying tribute to the classic comic book storyline penned by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by George Perez, this long awaited adaptation will be a bit more loose than expected, seeing as how it has to align with the New 52 inspired continuity established by the current crop of animated movies. Still, fans should be pleased to see familiar faces such as Nightwing, Raven, Beast Boy and Starfire, along with new additions like Robin/Damian Wayne and Blue Beetle.

Justice League Vs. Teen Titans is Warner Brothers' other versus film coming out this March. During last weekend's WonderCon I had a chance to see an advanced screening of the animated movie that's in the same cineverse as films like Son of Batman and Justice League: War.
If you've seen those previous films then your expectations should be perfectly dialed in for what the tone, quality of animation, and voice acting will be like. That said, Justice League Vs. Teen Titans feels pretty safe in terms of story. While solidly told, it's not mind blowing for a team "origin" story. The story is so simple giving a summary would give away too much (so sorry for the short review).
The Teen Titans comprise Raven, Blue Beetle, and Beast Boy. They're appropriately awkward and overpowered, which keeps their showdown with members of The Justice League from ending quickly. Starfire is the...

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is almost in theaters, and the promotional machine has hit light speed. Everywhere you look, the ominous logos of its two iconic superheroes are everywhere, crowding billboards and buses, breakfast cereal boxes and toy isles. So why should the comic book store be any different. This is where these titans originated. So of course it makes sense that DC Comics is using the movie to sell its most recent line-up of monthly adventures.
Both the Dark Knight and The Man of Steel will be gracing the covers of quite a few DC Comics titles thourghout the month of March. And we have a look at two of those variant covers here, which show Bruce Wayne and Kal-El locked in deadly battle. Artists Stephen Platt and Massimo Carnevale are responsible for these specially-polybagged upcoming issues of Grayson and Wonder Woman.

Variant covers are something of a tradition in American comics--usually superhero comics. While I generally abhor the tradition for two reasons (one, the covers never represent the actual content in the books, and two, I hate that it preys on the completionist's Ocd), even I have to admit that they tend to get some quality cover designs out of it, and if this first series of covers is any indication, this will be no exception.
In celebration (and promotion) of the upcoming Batman v Superman, DC will be producing three variant covers for ten issues of comics. The first issue to get this treatment will be Detective Comics #50, with the cover being done by Rafael Grampa.
You can check out these covers below!
Below is the full list of comic issues that will be receiving the treatment:

We’ve got two clips for you to watch from Warner Bros. Animation’s upcoming animated film Batman: Bad Blood. The first clip is called “Dates,” and it’s an action sequence that features Nightwing fighting the villain Blockbuster. The second clip is called “Gone,” and it shows us a conversation Nightwing and Alfred have about Batman’s disappearance.
When Batman goes missing, it will take the entire Bat “family” – including new additions Batwoman and Batwing – to keep the peace in Gotham City and unravel the mystery behind the Dark Knight’s disappearance in Batman: Bad Blood.
This movie was inspired by a few different Batman stories including Batman: R.I.P., Batman & Robin, and Batman Inc. It's also a follow-up to the previous animated films Son of Batman and Batman vs. Robin. If you liked those two movies, then you're sure to enjoy this one.

Two words could be used to describe comics in 2015: scandal and rebirth. The scandals happened off the pages at both companies large and small, and the rebirth happened in the comics themselves.
Graphic Policy reported that former Dark Horse Comics editor-in-chief Scott Allie bit writer Joe Harris (X-Files Season Ten) at the Boom! Studios party at San Diego Comic Con, and he was demoted to “executive editor” even though an assault of this kind would be grounds for dismissal at almost any other company. There was also another ethical breach at Dark Horse when The Rainbow Hub journalist Emma Houxbois reported that former Bleeding Cool editor Hanna Means-Shannon broke a Dark Horse-related story while it was under embargo and didn’t disclose the fact that she was taking a job with the company.
Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso’s dismissal of African-American comics fans and creators when asked why...

Batman: Bad Blood, the next animated DC movie, finally has a release date. It will first be available via Digital HD on January 19, 2016 and will later arrive on Blu-Ray and DVD on February 2.
For those unfamiliar, the film continues the story started in Son of Batman and Batman vs. Robin and will see how the Bat-Family and Gotham City as a whole react to the disappearance of Batman (Jason O’Mara), leading to Dick Grayson/ Nightwing assuming the mantle of The Dark Knight. Quite honestly, I have been waiting years for a movie like this.

Warner Bros. Animation
For over 20 years now, Warner Bros. Animation has been producing some of the finest programmes and films in the business, with their most successful outings of course revolving around the titular heroes of the DC Universe. Recently however? Their releases have been less than exemplary.
The decline can be traced back to the demise of DC’s old universe, with the New 52 sadly alienating a great deal of fans with its rupturing of continuity and unchecked editorial interference. Sadly, its roots have also worked their way into DC’s once immaculate animated efforts, with films like Justice League: War and Son of Batman embedding themselves very comfortably in the annals of animated mediocrity. Uniform art styles and rigid story telling never used to be the norms of Warner Bros.’ animated adaptations, but they certainly are now.
It’s not just the films that have suffered either...

DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation bring fans of the Dark Knight his latest adventure Batman vs. Robin. Writer J. M. It doesn’t hurt that the ever angry and charismatic Damien Wayne and his strained relationship with his father Bruce are parts of the main focus of the story.

There’s been much hand-wringing about the state of DC Comics’ live-action franchise, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice looking increasingly like a make-or-break proposition if they want to keep up with Marvel. Those woes often paint over the fact that DC’s television and video endeavors are doing quite well. Their direct-to-video releases, while they have their ups and downs, still set a standard of quality that makes longtime fans extremely happy. Their newest release – Batman vs. Robin, screened this past Friday before a packed house at WonderCon in Anaheim – makes a welcome addition to that canon, and a sign that direct-to-video can still adhere to expected standards of quality. Batman v. Robin serves as a sequel to last year’s Son of Batman, which united Bruce Wayne (voiced by Jason O’Mara) with his child by the al-Ghul family Damian (voiced by Stuart Allan). Both voice actors return to their duties here,...
