Baked in Brooklyn

I don't often write reviews but I stumbled across this film and loved it. Funny, touching and grounded especially for this type of movie. Contemporary romantic comedy (dramady?). The movie takes you a great little journey with characters that actually come across as real and grounded. I highly recommend this great little date movie.

Scenario is ok, filming is ok, girlfriend is fantastic but the main character is ... boring. It's not possible to have empathy for him so you're happy that this movie ends (pretty quickly) and it could have been much, much better ...

Anyway, the kind of movie to watch home on a rainy day!

I really wanted to like this movie. I like the pot culture. I enjoy self medicating. Big Head from Silicon Valley is an actor I enjoy seeing in TV and movies. The girl is hot.

The movie unfortunately lacks depth. There is nothing compelling about any of the main characters. His relationship with the girl didn't draw me in mostly because the writing is very shallow. He likes her because she is really hot. She likes him because he plays a song she likes. It is difficult to say why she continues to like him. There is nothing funny in the movie. I think I would have liked it if it was at least a little funny.

There is little to like in this movie other than a curious fascination with how he built his weed dealing business on craigslist and some hope that we may see the girls' boobs.

There are plenty of great examples of how to develop characters and relationships in movies. No excuse for bad writing.

Movie is just ok. I love Alexandria, she is the only reason I watched the money. The main male character needs to go to college, he has no street smarts, just a naive kid. The end of the movie was the only upbeat side that I enjoyed. Try it, maybe you'll like it !

I like Silicon Valley, except for the series finale, and was curious about Big Head. Saw this movie on his imdb page. I really like AD, but the movie is lacking in too many places. I'm not a stoner, but this wasn't really a stoner picture, wasn't really a comedy, and wasn't really a romcom, wasn't really anything.
