A Crime in Rio

(2013) A Crime in Rio/ O Crime da Gávea/ Murder in Gavea (In Portuguese with English subtitles) PSYCHOLOGICAL CRIME MYSTERY/ ART HOUSE

It opens with wife, Fabiana (Aline Fanju) discovered murdered with her husband, Paulo (Ricardo Duque) being a possible suspect, as the killer left muddy footprints into the room where his wife was killed. While Paulo's daughter is being left with it's grandparents on the wife's side, he does a little investigating himself. And as the movie is progressing, we also see that he is unfaithful himself, who has a mistress he happens to work with. Her name is Elisa (Simone Spoladore), and while the detective, Det. Afranio (Celso Taddei) assigned to the case is bothering Paulo with questions throughout the entire movie. During Paulo's investigation led him to two possible suspects- first a gambler of horse racing, named Isamel (Silvio Guindane) who claims is a friend of Paulo's mistress Elisa, and a scriptwriter, professor named, Jordão (Roberto Birindelli). The name Gávea is supposed to be a popular area in Rio de Janeiro where people who are entitled live at.

Even after the movie was over, I was still baffled about who killed Paulo's wife as there were scenes showed that he may have done it to the professor, to some random guy on the street the reason why I also describe this movie as an art house.
